But the results, goals against that is, are hardly any different from last season so the attacks can't be that much weaker?

Seems to me a bid of c£100k to Barnet for Akinde would be a wise move. If we got him he effectively guarantees goals at this level and significanltly weakens our rivals. If they reject (most likely) then we may out the cat amongst the pigeons at Barnet for no cost. It's the classic trick which Barca and Real have pulled on teams like Athletico/Valencia in the past. Whilst we're not quite Barcelona(!), few would argue with the biggest club in this league. Have you forgotten just how bad Akinde was when he was here, no thanks not even for 50p and before anyone starts it has nothing to do with him being a S**thead. He put zero effort into the team and was a waste of space. When he played here with Barnet this year he was awful, he did nothing but stand in the middle of the park and try to bully McChrystal/Parkes. Yes he may be the top scorer in the conference but that doesn't mean he is very good, spells at League clubs have proved this. Nailseagas, I think you've forgotten that when we had Akinde that was in L1 - I would say that is a very big difference to Conf. By the way, I'm not advocating that we sign him.

A fit LDV back on loan would be great, but we really need a decent striker, and those don't come cheap in January. Tubbs would be great if we could get him cheaply.

So, is Matttteeeeee Taylor not decent enough? Aside from him our options are pretty poor, and he's still prone to botching easy chances. It's no secret that we've struggled for goals this season. Ideally we'd get more from midfield, but it'll be difficult to improve on our current options in the centre, and I can't think of any consistent goal-scoring wingers who we could realistically target. Thus, we need another striker IMO. I like Blissett but I wouldn't want to rely on him as our only genuine goal threat upfront if Taylor missed a chunk of games for whatever reason.

Plus if Taylor hits a barren spell we need other options, although it would be interesting to see what Goldberg as to offer over 90 mins before his loan spell ends?
Having lost Wall do we really need a back up for Bisset, I can't see Harrison is a realistic option, more than another Taylor type player? Blisset does his far share of defensive duties to suggest we always need a big centre forward in the team.

I have a feeling he will come good if he whether it be with us or someone else.

For me ... yesterday's game confirmed we need an LDV type player which would allow Sinclair to then play in his favoured and effective central role. We cannot count on Balanta or Brunt being fit when we might need them ... so after a winger it would be another striker for me to play alongside Matt Taylor.

When does the transfer window open in the Conference? Radio Bristol were saying not until Sunday (which will be the next set of games) but Telford have already announced they have signed 2 players ?

I've no idea if he's any good or not given he's hardly played.

On the basis that neither of them have had a lot of time on the pitch. Both small strikers who clearly know where the back of the net is. Potential in both.

So the fact he's hardly played makes him a good striker, unfortunately that didn't work for White who also seemed to know where the net was before he signed for Rovers.

I reckon Tubbs will be signing Any chance of signing of him might be extinguished if he plays well and notches against L'pool live on BBC1 Monday Night.

I don't know, you may be right, but our goals against is very low - lowest in the Conf ATM - so perhaps there's a limit to how low that figure can go, especially as we can't seem to keep a consistent back line.

Transfer window opens today teams can sign players at any point during the season but will not be completed until the window is open.

Here's a winger I would've loved us to sign. Cobblers got their first....
