Liverpool fan seems to think that Rhys Williams is on his way to us. Can't say I know much about him but has played 9 games for them. 6ft 5" center back by all accounts. Dunno if he is just using us an example of that his career won't be playing in the premier league or he has actually heard that he is on his way to us. Would be a coup for us given he is well thought of at LFC and was at Swansea last season so unlikely to drop to L1 Billy Koumetio might be a more likely fit.

This has been taken completely out of context, the Liverpool fan in question (on Twitter) is using us as a mockery to say he isn’t good enough to play for them. He isn’t suggesting he knows anything about him joining us. There is no way a player of that ‘Calibre’ drops to L1 on loan, he will go abroad or Championship.

The Liverpool lad Quansah impressed me again for England during the u19 Euros, but Williams is another player I like and watched quite a bit since his time in the Liverpool U18s. gaschat.co.uk/post/510991

Derby sign James Chester and Connor Hourihane - two great signings. And now David McGoldrick Out of administration days and probably overspending already, as I cannot imagine any of these 3 will be cheap I know they will get crowds approaching 30,000 but surely they should be cutting their cloth accordingly. Derby are now under strict rules from the football league as regards wage caps etc.

Eoin Toal was a centre half I wouldn't have minded us going in for, but looks he is going to Bolton now. If there is any chance we could hijack the deal I would try if I was Joey.

Although from what you say it's a none story anyway.

Fingers crossed we get Connor back … will be interesting to see how he and Beefy get on in L1 .
Wonder if we need some more experience in that position as well .. ?

Smacks of Bolton Wanderers a few years ago. Amazed they can get away with it .
League One is going to be incredibly tough this season …. I think we will be competitive but patience is needed for sure. Tbf I’m not sure they have got away with it. Administration has caused them relegation and an awful two years. And at the moment they have met all the rules surrounding administration, finally. I don’t know what anyone would want them to do. They have about 4/5 players so unless anyone expects them to play 5-a-side they have to sign players, quickly. I expect their current salary bill for players to be far less than anyone else although it will increase. Looks like they’ve made some ‘big’ signings as quickly as possible to show intent and help others to join them. If they’ve met all the EFL rules regarding admin then they will be starting with a clean sheet so they can sign some expensive players early perhaps. 3 very good signings today, players who have a real pedigree, one in each area of the team and likely to be players who play, not just squad players. It’s going to be great playing these traditional clubs.👍 UTG!

Apparently they remain under a transfer embargo, are allowed to sign players provided they stay within the business plan jointly agreed by the new owners and the EFL.

"got away with it" on the basis they've gone bust no doubt leaving many local businesses with debts, but will still probably mount a promotion challenge this season. Meanwhile at both Bristol clubs their owners have had to pay out £m's of their own money so that their clubs are in a similar debt free position.

But those aren’t the rules are they? Best to have a go at the EFL rules rather than Derby Co. I’m sure you’re right about local companies losing out as we’ve seen far closer to home, albeit 40 years ago. But presumably at both Bristol clubs it has been the owners who’ve made the choice to run their clubs as they choose. And then pay the consequences, literally. For clarity I don’t disagree with you really Topper but I was commenting on Derby signing players and making the point that with only 4/5 players what would you expect them to do? UTG!

I have heard we had a bid rejected for McCormick this week, apparently exploring possibility of signing an alternative AM (whilst continuing to peruse Macca, I assume?), who is also currently at a League Two club.

I wonder who the other target could be? His teammates Jack Rudoni and Ayoub Assal possibly too expensive, maybe one of Jack Payne, John McAtee or Alistair Smith? Although I'd expect McAtee to command a decent fee too.

Do we think Westbrooke may move on this summer or is Joey going to give him a chance?

Do we think Westbrooke may move on this summer or is Joey going to give him a chance? Tidy footballer, although afraid to put his foot in; would not be surprised if both player and manager shake hands and say their good-byes.
