When I was stood on the pitch at the weekend singing "We are going up" it did occur to me what a load of bollocks the forum is!! The negativity on here clearly doesn't extend to everyone... thankfully 😉

As always it is opinions. I supported the team, cheered with the best, but I have, and am entitled to, different views from you and many others. Onwards and upwards.
What? I was not replying to you pal. Nonsense is the idea that Barton is Burnley bound

As articulate as this post was; it does sometimes help when dismissing someone's opinion as nonsense to offer some justification as to why you think that is. It helps for the original poster to then address your argument with a counter argument or, ultimately, concede to your point. ?? Just because my post was below his doesn’t mean I was replying to it. I would have quoted it if that was the case. Jesus wept

Brighton Gas, this annoys me. I wasn't, and am not, negative. I cheered with the best. I wasn't on the pitch 'cos I'm not as sprightly as I was. If Barton stays, I will still cheer and support the team, and give him credit for the football side, if we continue to play as we are and do well. However, there are some things more important than football, and the issue of domestic violence is one those things.
Onwards and upwards.

Although it is not nonsense that he is/was the bookies' favourite to become the next Burnley manager. That, I'm afraid, is a provable fact Whether there is any substance to that or whether it is just based entirely on betting patterns, theory and/or gossip remains to be seen (although I would agree - it is most unlikely).

I didn’t suggest anything. Wahey! Now we're having an argument - lovely stuff I meant when someone calls an opinion nonsense they are suggesting that they have a contrary opinion. Which therefore becomes an argument. No wrong again. The dialogue between me and you is a discussion.

I genuinely believe that Barton sees it as his mission to get us into the championship; he strikes me as the kind of man who will be completely focussed on achieving that to the exclusion of pretty much everything else. He has stated publicly that he is already wealthy enough to pick and choose what he wants to do job-wise, and given that he had a successful career in top-flight football, has co-authored a top-selling autobiography, probably has a nice little sideline as a motivational or after-dinner speaker, I’d tend to believe him on that one. Taking all that into consideration, I think he’s going to be here for the duration; if he can get us competing at the top end of Lg 1 line we did in Lg 2, he could quite believably accomplish that in the next 2-3 seasons, which would then put him in a very good position to bag a job in the top tier.

Hopefully Wael is on the phone to Joey and planning for next season in league 1. Will be disappointed if Joey was to leave after Wael backed him enough to make him Manager and then keep him on after a poor start to the season. Afraid if Joey left he won't be afforded the same patience. Doesn't want to peak to soon by jumping at first job higher up when he is still quite a young manager. No younger than Lampard and Gerrard who are Premier League managers already. I am not sure Barton will get the freedom he is afforded at lower clubs but he has already got several years management under his belt.

Agreed but if I could throw a point in, he's got Wife and Children that if they've settled here as well, that's another consideration.

Less than a week ago we were all hugging each other on the pitch praising what a club we all support, now it’s back to arguing and hating each other again. Love it.
