Just woken up... a superb performance from a team which seems to have it all. Sweden started on the front foot but once England settled into the game it was only ever going one way. The goal from Russo for 3-0 was simply magnificent! On to Wembley and the Lionesses will fear no-one. The second semi-final down at Milton Keynes tonight is hard to call. It will be tight for sure and I suspect an extra 30 minutes may be needed. Goals may come from French set pieces or the German power through the center. My Bank Manager would like to see a narrow win for Germany to ensure a profit on the tournament!

Embarked on an an epic road trip yesterday. Wife and I are going to all of the knockout games. Brighton, Brentford, Leigh and Rotherham for the quarters, Sheffield and Milton Keynes for the semis and Wembley for the final with a trip home for the FGR match slotted in as well. 8 games in 12 days, a record even for me I think! I foresee an England v Germany final which will be typical given I have a nice ante-post voucher for the Germans! Good call. 👍

Back home in Bristol after a really enjoyable trip - around 750 miles completed and 6 games watched so far, all new grounds for my wife but only Leigh Sports Village was new to me. Glad to see the Germans through last night, I thought that 1-1 at half time was a fair reflection of the game but the 2nd half saw France seemingly getting the upper hand until up popped Alexandra Popp (who else?) with a classy headed goal to restore Germanys lead with a quarter of an hour to go. I have to say I do like Stadium MK, this was my 2nd visit having seen Rovers play there way back in April 2009 (2-1 defeat). Padded seats again and plenty of leg room for a gangly 6 foot frame. Onto Saturday now - back to the Mem for the 1st game of the season and then Wembley on Sunday (trains permitting, I hope the strike on Saturday doesn't impact the Sunday services too much). I'm not going to predict anything for Sunday - just hope to enjoy the occasion! Profit is assured either way as my bet on Germany was each way - will probably just level it up by laying a bit back so there is no difference financially on the outcome of the game.
