It's not really a generation thing.
If there was a better, newer alternative to DVD's that would be fine, but who wants to spend hours searching for highlights of all 46 games on You Tube?
You can't compare that to popping in a DVD and sitting back with the family to watch 2 hours of highlights of one of the most remarkable seasons in the club's history.
If they could make a downloadable version that would be fine.

Plus, downloads get lost, you can't lend them out, you've got to plug them into the flat screen, you can't line them up with other Rovers dvds in the collection.

Anyone younger than me (47) probably wouldn’t have the foggiest what this thread title was all about … probably assume it was a conversation about sexual health. Did you not buy one of the DVDs celebrating our successes in ‘15 and ‘16? 😉 UTG!

I sure many are just enjoying a laugh and taking the p*** out of people like me but having a hard copy of something is much less faff when wanting to watch it than worrying about downloading etc.
And overall it does show a worrying lack of tolerance towards people who like a ‘hard copy’ or who may prefer a non technological way of supporting us or who find many new technologies more difficult. I would have thought providing for all supporters was a good thing but perhaps that’s not universally felt! 🤔

Think the last one was ‘Derby of the Millennium’ from 2007 … don’t own anything to play it on now though

I want a dvd and book, and if others want alternatives then that's down to the club.

I want a dvd and book, and if others want alternatives then that's down to the club. Snap. Happy to pay un up front subscription to make sure costs are covered. If they charged £25 for the DVD and we could watch a premiere exclusive with the players and get a free pint, I am sure it would make a large profit. I believe DVDs are very cheap to copy from the master copy. Bar takings would be good and a good chance to mingle with the players, this improving the rapport. Win win. C'mon the media team, you can do it for us older fans.

This was a few weeks after Scunthorpe. Sent him a reminder but no reply. Hopefully they are looking into it. As the club have lots of contact details, could they not send an email with a simple marketing stroll poll re a book/DVD/other merchandise etc to see if the supporters are interested or not?

Just keep winning , then we won’t need to trawl through the annals of time to get our jollies. JB ‘s onto it, you’ll see. 🏆

A PS5 will play DVD's, they're hardly extinct.
At the end of the day, if they release a DVD and you don't want it, don't buy it. Pretty simple really.
Personally, I think there would be more than enough demand for the club to make a tidy profit.

Wondering whether the lack of a end of season film/ dvd is more down to the time to put together a high quality 90-120m review of the season. The short 2-10min videos they released all last season were expertly put together. Imagine they would want it to be similar quality but may take far too long to produce that? Wild guess.

Going against the small sample of opinions on here but really don't think it'd be worth the club getting DVDs produced.
For those that have said that navigating YouTube, download issues etc then I suggest you spend a bit more time learning. The world is only moving more towards this and soon DVDs will be a thing of the past completely.
I think the most likely scenario is that the club produce something and upload it to YouTube as a film with a cost. With the direction the club have taken lately I don't think they'll produce a DVD and I don't think a small sample of users on here will give them enough to even think about it.

Like most, I could find the individual match highlights & post match interviews etc on You Tube, but how long do you think it would take to search and watch 46 games back to back? Hardly an enjoyable experience. I can't believe anyone would want to do that.
A DVD or downloadable film featuring every match, post match interviews with JB and showing our league position as we climb the table would be far better. Just press play and sit back and enjoy with the family.
AS I said, PS5 play DVD's so they're hardly extinct. I'd prefer a DVD but have no problem with a downloadable film and would be happy to pay £50 for either if the quality was good.
