Dave passed away on Sunday 31st July after a short illness, he was 78.
After being spotted by Bristol Rovers scouts playing for Old Georgians as a teenager, Dave signed a professional contract. He broke through into the first team before he was 20, and made a handful of appearances as an inside forward, but a serious ankle injury brought a premature end to his career as a full time professional. In 1965 he signed for Cheltenham Town, then one of the top non-league clubs, where he played for four seasons. He then went onto play for Worcester City and Gloucester City, also in the Southern League, before retiring as a footballer.
Following his injury Dave trained as a carpenter, and for many years ran his own double-glazing company. He was also a Director of Cheltenham Town FC in the 1980s and 1990s.

Can remember him around the mid sixties. A regular in the reserves who were playing the likes of Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea at that time.
