Alex Wall needs to work hard to put himself back in contention for a first team place at Kenilworth Road.
Wall returned early to Luton Town from a loan spell at Bristol Rovers last week.
Hatters boss John Still said: “He went (to Rovers) not fit. We told Bristol Rovers he wasn’t fit, but they said they would use him.
“They have played him, not a lot. He has come back fitter but he has still got to work hard on his fitness over the next week or ten days, so we’ll have a little programme for him.
“He’ll have to work hard to get back in contention.
“We weren’t crazy about loaning him out but they were desperate. He is fitter now than when he went but he’s a little way away yet.”
Reading this I find a bit disappointing on two fronts why we are taking loanees who are not fit and therefore unlikely to contribute that much and secondly not giving Ellis a better opportunity.
Does the the last line suggest we might have contributed more that we think and perhaps why he went back earlier?
What does everyone else thing?

Quality of loaness except for LDV not brilliant.Must go higher up the ladder this month .No need to bring in players who are no better than those we already have and Wall very ordinary like Martin.

The standard of loanee up to Christmas may not have been great on the most part but that was always likely as nobody knew how Rovers would fare in this division. A better quality of player may have seen a loan move to Rovers as too much of a gamble a few months back, thus we had to go for Martin, Cunnington, Wall etc.
Now we sit in second, people will see we are genuine contenders. We are a much better proposition for players now because they have a chance of bringing the extra bit of something we need to go for promotion. Anyone who plays a significant part will be very popular amongst Rovers supporters and will, hopefully, have a promotion on their CV. It could swing deals in our favour.
Fingers crossed for a successful transfer window because it could be absolutely vital.

IMO what is for sure if BRFC do not bring in any quality players durin the January window, then we will not get promoted. With Eastliegh already making a big signing at conference level, we really need Box 1 to get off the pot and back the club with some serious money.

Agree should be easier (wouldn't be surprised if managers used to threaten lazy players with a loan spell with us!!) but let's not wait as we know it takes time for newbies to slot in really well. The window is now open so let's get on with it, please

Someone should get on the blower to Tony Pulis and see if he can do us any favours.

Let's face it the season got off to a ropey start. Hardly any goals and defeats at Altrincham & Braintree. I'm hoping it would be easier to get quality loan signing now we're second. Players may look at our position and realise they could have a promotion on their CV. And become a local hero is nothing else. IF we make the play offs though that could cause problems. Don't most loans go to the end of the season?

I see Christian Jolley and Danny Crow are both being released by Newport and both helped get them out of the conference.
Perhaps a short term contract is an alternative after all it's good enough for Frank Lampard!!

Harrison must be gutted if he's read these comments!
Harrison in his last two games has scored one penalty and won another, apart from Wall's free kick at Wrexham I can't recall he did anything of note during his loan spell.
