Genuinely going to give up watching football if the dark arts continue to be this bad.
Another gem from the Shrewsbury forum: “Shouldnt be surprised at Rovers being dirty, look what a thug they have as a manager. It's only to be expected”. Thick c*nt wasn’t even at the game. Sick of idiots constantly calling us dirty just because Barton is our manager, especially with the state of their own team.

Whilst I agree with comments about lack of creativity, to slag off the defence which since the opening day we lost the services of James Gibbens for 2 months with a foot injury & now today we learn James Connelly for a similar amount of time a bit out of order. In the end we got a point against one worst time wasting, injury feigning sides I’ve ever seen, thank goodness when there was talk of Cotterill coming to us it never happened. Why try and ignore the fact if our defence hadn't switched off for their goal it could well have been a 1-0 win today.

Lack of creativity and defensive organisation/authority is costing us at the moment.
Not great news about Connolly either, just adding to the need for more reinforcements this coming week. Fingers crossed it does prove to be worth the wait and we can kick on.

Could a semi fit McCormick really have been any less creative than today's squad? Surely he could have managed a 15 minutes cameo appearance?

Distribution out of defence was a shadow of what we saw last season. Gibson and Kilgour did ok defensively but passing was awful. Hoping for a flurry of signings over the next few days, squad is too weak currently. Not there today but totally unsurprised by the comments regarding the long punts and terrible passing from the back. Have been saying it for years, Alfie cannot play football on the deck. It’s just beyond him. Connelly will be an enormous miss.

Its interesting that both injuries are stress fractures too. Personally I felt that they were targeting our right hand side today and we need a dominant centre half too next week I think. Shrewsbury were a disgrace and referees fall for it, not sure what the answer is to stamp it out.

Perhaps they’d be better at the job if their actual livelihoods depended on it . . . ?

Haven't read through the whole thread but fwiw I thought although we were far from great having scored first we should really have seen the game out. Shrewsbury were a horrible bunch of time wasters, every away team does it to an extent but they really took things too a new level. Absolutely awful to watch not helped by a ref who seemed scared to death to do anything to stop them. Having said that we were poor going forward today, creativity was missing for large parts bar the goal and Marquis header in 1st half. This might be an unpopular opinion but thought Kilgour was very good, granted his distribution isn't as good as Connelly but a defenders first job is to defend and he did that well today. Interesting few days ahead, we are blatantly short of creativity and will certainly need another CB now, big end to the window for us

Well the shrewhousery from them was incredible, seriously Would not pay to watch that garbage under Cotts if I was a shrew.
They are in the wyscum mould.
We lacked creativity, from the East stand saw nothing wrong with our second goal.
Hope they get relegated, dust ourselves down BUT need some magic on the wings.

A 100% player but he’s limited and I don’t think he’s ever going to get to the standard we need to play Barton ball.

Their tactics meant we could not get going! Were our tactics good enough?

Weird question to ask someone you know wasn’t there? Suppose you’ll tell me it was like watching Connor Taylor all over again😄

Weird question to ask someone you know wasn’t there? Suppose you’ll tell me it was like watching Connor Taylor all over again😄 Just saying that is his primary job. We look like we lack some confidence so often he had few options for a pass. Is it his problem or that of the six players in front of him? There seems to be a fair amount of criticism about the passing from the defence but no questions about those in front of them.

Barton has that reputation, it's going to happen, and people lean into it. If some of our fans celebrate him as straight talking and tough, you have to accept when people focus on his violent past.

Seems Connelly will be missing for a while so we’ll have to baton down the hatches and dig in till he’s back (or additions are made) I’ll take the point and main positive of the day, Lofty opens his account! Hopefully no one made good on their promise of the Ryan Loft song and enter the playing surface after he scored….again😄😄

Feels to me Kilgour and Gordon should be squad players only. We need a first choice CB and LB (or 2 CB’s with Gibbons at LB) Big week for Joey and the gas. Seems there are enough weak teams we should finish at the top end of the bottom 8 but would be nice to kick on a bit more.
