Now this is a player who could change us from Play Off contenders to Title winners but I very much doubt we would be willing to cough up the money to get him and probably wouldn't come any way because he will be looking to get straight back to a League club with this transfer. Would be just the type of player we need in midfield and any transfer fee could be recouped because he is a young player who could well go on to the Championship in time and maybe will go there during this month. I could see a club like Bournemouth taking a hunch on him or wouldn't be surprised if City tried to get him cheap. We really do need a central midfielder to start creating chances as we are creating very little through the centre and most of our attacks are generating from the full backs or central defenders and bypassing the midfield and without wingers we are not getting behind the opponents defence enough. Young,Tubbs and De Velde on loan would be ideal but very ,very unlikely. We can still hope ,of course that Balanta is going to find fitness and form and that Gosling is going to be played regularly on the wing.

I highly doubt Young will move to another non league club. Think he will go to a league club.

I heard all the Turkeys raving about him, but can't say he impressed me that much last week. Only seen him once, though.
Also, as Mansell and Sinclair are the key to our stability, istm you can't just stick a more attack minded player in the middle without it affecting everything else.

The problem is that we don't have enough options in there . At the moment the only option is Clarke and he is only of any use when he is scoring goals as he gets totally lost like a headless chicken and Sinclair is the same when he is wasted on the wing. For me the endless changes are unsettling the team and without pressurising the opponents further up the pitch we are spending too long getting the ball and then give it away too cheaply. None of our midfielders really control the game and dictate the pace of the game.

Torquay have nothing but good words for him, if he was to come here I'd be happy but in all likelihood, if he's to leave Torquay, it will be to a League club.

I know he's had rave reviews but he didn't stand out. Did he "create" anything?

If he's so good why are Torquay struggling to even make the Play Offs? Plus unless we can offload Clarke do we really need another midfielder on the pay role? Surely priority as to be a central defender either Trotman or similar, a winger & a striker personally, I'd go for another big CF but DC seems to be chasing Tubbs unless he's going for two strikers.

I too didn't see anything from him to make me think we should sign him. I've heard he's highly rated and scored a wonder goal earlier in the season, but gotta say I didn't think he stood out at all in a very poor Torquay side.

Is Brunt completely off the books now or is he still contracted to us?

None of our midfielders really control the game and dictate the pace of the game. I look at it slightly differently in that you need to consider how we would cope with a couple of injuries. It's a squad game and not just a first 11 consideration. If we lost either of Sinclair or Mansell we would be in trouble. If we lost both we would be stuffed. As an minimum we need one more in central midfield.

I thought he was incredibly average. Torquay fans were singing his praises during their early run in the season, saying he was the best player in the league.

Northampton are in for in for him as Lawson D'Ath is off to a L1 team! God knows why we didn't sign him! DC biggest mistake of the summer!

Why does Northampton signing him make him a good signing, after all they signed JJOT in the summer!
Anyway unless Young had expressed any interest in joining us in the summer how can it be a mistake not signing him?
