Really sensible article in the Bristol Post - a sentiment which will make me unpopular.

It’s not sensible, they are our rivals and we don’t want to develop their players for them. Period.
Most of the City youngsters that are allowed out on loan are League Two level at best anyway. The good ones they keep in their first team squad.

One thing I noticed this article was not written by Sam Frost but by a non rovers person so I say to him keep your nose out of it

It's a stupid article and you'd really think their Sports Editor would have more sense than to write such an article.
Just imagine if we developed the next EA for them and he then goes on to score the goals which got them promoted to the Premiership, or was sold for £10m+ in the future.
Also what happens when we play a team with an ex City player in their side, as it would be a bit odd chanting "Sh..head" when he touched the ball when we had one playing for us as well.

As popular as a sh*t sandwich.
Twatty Traitor put paid to anything like that happening again in the near future. Rightly so in my eyes, others will disagree.
Why help them and have them lording it as a feeder club to their glorious empire ?
Slow news day (so far anyway.....)

Have they not seen how players are treated down our patch, even if they spent 5mins on loan down AG 6 years ago?😂
Out of touch nonsense.

I'm sure there is more abuse to come, but I must be one of the few here who don't 'hate Bristol City'. The view seems to be that, if we get loan players from them they will benefit and we won't, or maybe that they will benefit more than us. Why is that the case? If we borrow a player who helps us get promoted, surely that is a good thing, even if that makes him a better player for City. If he doesn't make us better, but beneits from playing for us, surely that is because we haven't chosen the right player to take on loan, or, if he is good enough, we haven't got a team strong enough to support him.
In the end this argument is really not rational, its totally emotional and I, unlike a lot/most of you, I don't hate Bristol City (nor do I like them1).

If EA & Taylor had come from City would you really care if they went back there and did well? I wouldn't.

Hang on. The cost of living issue is more about perm signings, not sure impacts loans. The reporter has, in my opinion, taken different aspects and muddied the waters.

Obviously written by a sh*thead with the intention of winding us up.
Effectively saying "our completely inexperienced youngsters are good enough to do a job for the Gas".
No thank you.

It's a terrible idea, totally unnecessary.
It has obviously been written to get clicks, controversy gets eyeballs.
The writer can't really lose on this one.

One thing I noticed this article was not written by Sam Frost but by a non rovers person so I say to him keep your nose out of it Yes it written was by a right belter called James Piercy who ive had a few run-ins with myself. Clearly has a chip on his shoulder; "Before we continue, it needs to be clarified there is no subtext here celebrating any apparent success for Bristol City, at the expense of the Gas. Nor - as is a constant accusation - further evidence of the “Evil Post’s” apparent inherent and inescapable City bias"

Good sensible article.
Funny how the Evil Posts says it and there is outrage.
When Joey does it and brings in a cheaper better version of XYZ he will be a hero.
Fans care about these things. Players generally don't. Kids want to play, older players just want as much money as possible, whoever it is for.
If Collins was wanted by City and they offered 3 or 4 times his wages, like Taylor, he would be gone.

I wouldn't be against picking up released City players and giving them a chance at our level, necessarily. But I am not sold on the loan scenario discussed in the article. Imagine City loaned us a player who became an integral first teamer as we start building a play-off push and so City decide to recall him... Or if a player joins us on loan and doesn't quite hit the ground running and it all becomes "Agent [so and so]" again (remember Akinde?) and fans get on his back - would City want to expose a young player to that kind of atmosphere?
