Worth saying that although Marcus is going through hell with what is a terminal illness, we all respect and appreciate what he’s done for us.
Here’s hoping it’s a very slow development and not as terminal as it can be, but life is too short not to thank the man for all the memories he’s given us, the moments of ecstasy which are far more than most of us losers give anyone.
The term hero is banded about a lot but truly, he is mine. On the playground we would argue over who gets to be Marcus Stewart. To the extent we had Marcus 1 and Marcus 2.
I’m sure this is scant consolation and this disease can be varied, but it’s worth being honest and saying thanks for such amazing times, such vivid memories of that classic curtain headed youth bringing joy to us and class we’ve not seen since.

What goes on the pitch, stays on the pitch (for competitive games) If I bumped into him in the street would I boo him, no. I'd hope the most anyone would do would be just to ignore him. My brother died at 47 yrs of age from mnd , it’s probably the hardest & most heart breaking part of my life ,I remember taking him to Sheffield & them telling him he had mnd , 4/5 yrs to live , 6 months later we went back to Sheffield to be told he had 2 weeks to live , I remember holding him on side of a52 & him just repeating I’m dieing ,your meant to look after you’re younger brother , I could do nothing other than hold him while they washed him , hold a book so he could read , just sit with him broke my heart , left behind a wife , 2 girls & the grandkids
My prayers are with Marcus & I just hope soon we get the news they’ve found a cure for what must be one of the most awful illnesses,
