Hey all,
I'm a massive F1 fan when not supporting Rovers and I'm going to get tickets to attend Silverstone next year in 2023.
I just wondered if anyone had any experience of going before, and knows which are the best parts of the track to watch from, places to park ect
Regards
Axe.

Best tickets/view are opposite the pits in main stand, that way you see all the build up, pit stops and of course race, it is expensive but it’s expensive everywhere because it sells out every year. The weekend pass is the best value. Lots of reasonable b ‘n’ b’s if you stay for a few nights. There is a park n ride available a few miles away which has buses running every 5-10 minutes all day and is reasonable and runs like clockwork. Mate, it’s an unbelievable day, the hairs on the back of your neck literally stand up. Not sure who you like but if you can go before Lewis retires I’d recommend it, the cheers everytime he goes on track are amazing. 👍🏼

I've got tickets for the Luffield corner grandstand, and will be there for the weekend, hopefully camping if the weather is alright. I will try and get into the pit straight grandstands for Qualifying if there is enough space. Parking is probably my biggest anxiety with the amount of people attending but if there is a park and ride, I will find out a bit more about it. Great to hear that you've had a good experience with it. I'm a Lando fan, as I've always supported McLaren, though will give Lewis a cheer as he comes round as well assuming he'll be racing next year and not onto other things.

Luffield is superb mate , great view of the wellington straight and they fly by to the next ultra fast corner (can’t remember name) I saw Damon Hill there the year he won the championship. Lando is a great young driver, I can see why he’s your favourite and is only gonna get better, all the brits get a fantastic ovation and support all weekend. Camping is great too, with a unique atmosphere a bit like being at a festival. Qualifying is also an amazing experience, everyone is on tender hooks, I’ve seen a lot of greats including Lewis, Schumacher, Vettel etc but no one came close to watching Mika Hakkinen qualifying , I’ve never seen anyone faster or smoother. Yeah, check out the park n ride Axe, it gives you a lot of peace of mind and everyone is so friendly, I actually left my phone on the bus last time and a couple ran 500 yards to catch me up to return it! It’s a really well run service with literally thousands of spaces and starts around 6am I think. Have a fantastic time mate, the memories will last forever. Oh, one more thing, after the actual race they usually allow you to walk the track, it takes a long time (I only did half) but by walking it @nd being on it you suddenly realise how skilled they all are.

I went to Silverstone for the 2007 British Grand Prix. Lewis took the win, his first ever victory there I believe.
We stayed in a hotel a few miles away and used to the park & ride that went from Northampton’s Six Fields ground. Back then the top of the hill that has the pubs/restaurants was just one big mud patch.
For both practice and the day itself we parked ourselves on the straight just after Copse corner, which was a masterstroke from my mate (I didn’t have a clue myself)

Where did you book in the end? Not going this year out of spite over the ticket fiasco. Waited almost 2 days on that website constantly only to finally be able to get tickets and it would £700 each for the weekend. Disgrace really

Disgrace really I'm going Luffield Corner, though hoping to experience as many parts of the track as possible before the race. The worst of the ticket fiasco was the dynamic pricing, the ticket prices literally rising as more were snapped up. Some people had tickets in their basket only to find that the price had gone up when they went to pay. If I was a 'regular' I'd probably have not gone, but as its my first year I just wanted to go for the experience. I'm hoping to go to Spa and Monza in either 2023 or 2024, although I've heard the spectator experience in the latter has left much to be desired.

Fair enough, I was on Copse this year and was planning for Woodcote A next year. The view there looks the best of all worlds tbh and it’s close to the fan zone. I went to Hungary a few years ago which I enjoyed very much. Would be keen to see what a city track like Baku is like (can’t stand most city tracks) but just feel like it’s going to be queues everywhere?

Blend of modern and historic, next to the sea and usually sunny at that time of year. Longest straight in F1 too I believe, so you see the cars at their max speeds. What was Hungary like? I've heard they call it Monaco without the walls for how narrow it is. I've been told by a friend that Copse, Maggotts and Beckett along with the Pit Straight are some of the best places of the track to be at. Will definitely make sure I get to them at some point over the weekend.
