3 points. Both our strikers scored. Our top scorer added to his total and has now scored 4 in 4. Barnet lost, hard and the gap is now a mere six points.
Could we please just not spend all evening Dam moaning for once?

No, the useless one had already been hauled off, probably because he's only scored 7 in his last 11 games, 5 of which have been from open play. Awful player.

i didn't say that and anyone who reads what I write in life will know I never have. can you read.? or do you just read between the lines and make assumptions? By all statistical evidence Matty taylor is not a prolific scorer from open play. simple. NOTHING more, nothing less. I'm not mentioning anything to do with all round play. I just think the old 'love him or hate him' argument is a joke. he's clearly somewhere in between. He's not Alan Shearer. But he's also not Ali Dia. Life is far more grey than black or white. I agree with you MM. I was being sarcastic at the 'useless' label that tbone continues to peddle. It's as stupid as my suggestion that we only count certain goals. The fact is, he takes and scores our penaltys. What do you remember Chris Waddle, Stuart Pearce, Roberto Baggio for? please don't confuse analysis with tbone or i8 i don't use words like useless. it is possible in life to analyse something and come to a certain conclusion that some find uncomfortable, and without uncivil rhetoric, or one-line statements. I think of diamond Lights, UK subs, and a tampon tail.

Excellent, the boys did exactly what was needed, a goal each for both of our strikers and 13 points from 15 over the christmas period is nigh on perfect. a Nice 2 week break for the team to have a rest now as well. Just the very post I was about to make and with Barnet getting spanked today we can feel very happy.

Come on guys, let's stop arguing about Taylor. Perhaps he isn't a prolific goalscorer (yet) but he obviously works very hard, brings a lot to the overall team and, with him, we have taken 13 out of 15 points over a hectic holiday schedule - and we are still in with a shout of the automatic spot.
The team now have a 13 day break to get over any niggles, and let DC focus on getting in one or two reinforcements to really push on.
Let's get behind them all over the rest of the season.

There was never any doubt about Lamberts ability! IMO Tbone isn't far - I'd be surprised if Taylor makes the grade in L2, but will be happy if he fires us up there and carries on!!! If he's surpassed our best striker in recent memory's record for his first year, then why is he doomed to always be poor? I'm afraid I don't understand where you're coming from here at all. Players can get better over time and Taylor has done so over this season, who knows what level he could get to, he's 23 for God's sake, give the boy a chance. To be fair, Lambert had shown himself to be a good striker in the Football League with Rochdale (he got 22 in the season before he signed for us), Taylor's yet to contribute outside of non-league.

Absolutely agree. We are so close to the automatic spot we could easily whisper, we won't need to shout! At last my ground breaking thoughts might just come true. Have a great night gasheads.

I only heard a bit of it. considering that the first 2 rounds have dedicated saturdays set aside, and we have NO midweek fixtures left, I can;t see why on earth we would have to postpone a saturday lge match because our oppo might have a Trophy match, as surely they would have to arrange that for a weekday evening?

Guys....guys...come on! Lets take a look. Like people have mentioned we've taken 12 out of 15 points over Christmas, 2nd in the league and improving. Averaging a couple of goals + a game. Players playing their hearts out for the cause, making up what looked an insurmountable goal difference against the team who a first and this whole thread was taken up with 'in fighting'. WTF! The team that ends up Champions will also be the best supported, of that I'm sure 'cos as we know they're the "12th man". Think on my fellow Gas 'eads. We should be celebrating this result, not biting at each other. UTG!

The fact is he's a young striker who has recently found form for us. If we continue to let the boo-boys continue to poo on him during games unchallenged and miss out on the boost that the players have said our vocal support gives them, then there is a very real possibility that we will not go up. Their choice. The time for fighting over the past and who and who isn't good enough is over. There are 6 points between us and getting back in the league first time of asking. Sing up. Support the team instead of just the shirt and give us the best chance. (Not directed at you Rod)

That's why you failed your coaching badges. um. not sure what is going on today on here but what i meant has apparently come true. barnet down to 10 men due to injury. not such a flipping failure then. I just meant you got kicked out of football manager school for telling your players to maim the opposition.
