When I was a kid at Eastville, if the match all came into the crowd, I thought it was great to try and get a touch like my heroes.
Yesterday the ball went towards a group of late teens just by us and two of them tried filming it on their phones.
Luckily it just missed them, but if not, it could have been on one of those what happened next moments, where they break their phones and then their hands and the ball would have followed through to hit them in their faces!
Still they might have got some money of Harry Hill if they still do that show.

I do find it odd how people live and view their life through their phones. At concerts or any event so many people watching it through their phone rather than enjoying it fully in the moment.....but maybe I'm just a grumpy old git

I have seen elderly people fall and, instead of going to help, , many have filmed. Speechless when this happens

Phones lessen the human experience. They are addictive and when combined with social media, even more so. They may give short term pleasure, but lead to depression, anxiety and feeling apart from society.
Put the phone away and enjoy the moment. End of rant!
(Reluctantly written on my phone during a train ride - yes I am an addict too!)

Without my phone in the supermarket, how do I know whether to get Heinz beans or Crosse and Blackwell beans? Eh? Eh? You old-timers think life is so easy.

I don’t understand when I go to concerts and people film the entire thing through a phone, not really taking in the music or atmosphere.
That being said it’s something that comes with the technology, if it was around in the 70s you can guarantee Eastville and any other football ground would’ve been filled with people filming the game on their phones.

Whinging about people living life on their phones, whilst living their life, on their phone.
What gets me is football forum users. Tapping away their silly dad jokes without a card in the world.
I’m glad I’m not one of them.

I must be really old I detest mobile phones hence I don't own one and I don't miss it either. I have a mac for internet access for buying stuff and facebook etc. What really ticks me is how rude people can be when on their phone there often so engrossed in their phones to see what's going on around them. Only the other day whilst out walking my dog I ran into a situation with another dog owner, because my dog is not exactly dog friendly so I've always walked him on a lead or on a long line so as to have total and complete control of him as he's a big dog(German Shepherd). Normally my dog just ignores other dogs but on this particular day there was another dog off its lead roaming free in the park that kept pestering my dog and of course my dog is going nuts trying to get at the other dog barking growling and lunging. Despite me calling out them to call their dog away, they were on their phone oblivious to what was going on. When I did finally get their attention they started ranting and raving saying I was in the wrong, my dogs dangerous and my dog should be muzzled blah blah all this despite their dog not coming back on recall. I won"t repeat what I said to them but it wasn't pleasant.

It's all done for 'likes/followers' and stuff these days isn't it, that's why they film everything. Let them crack on, its the ones that are glued to their phones when crossing the roads that get on my nerves
