Is Tubbsy really off to Portsmouth? I don't really take notice of the EP, and I still haven't given up on him joining. His loan with Wimbledon has expired and the player will make a decision sometime this week. Still think DC can play a crucial part in him signing or changing his mind! Pompey surely can't afford his wages with the debt they're still in?!

I don't think their debt is a huge problem anymore. Obviously with 15k crowds and wise spending up to now under the supporters' trust they can probably afford this sort of deal.
It was high-end Premier League wages on relatively low crowds for that level which killed them really.

Don't get me wrong Pompey are a huge club but I think with Tubbs who is what 30 now? Should see the direction with the club is going, it's exciting times. Also I just had a look on the pompey forum and they're not keen on Tubbs as they play a 4-2-3-1 formation with Taylor up front who is doing well. Don't think this deal is dead in the water as everyone says just because the EP claim so!

Agree in general, but sadly pompey have form when buying too many players / paying them too much.
And they've just had a striker successfully come back from a year out with injury.

I think this could be bad juju if he comes - we'd need to change our style of play and our starting line up, his wages are rumoured to be big time and I think it would unsettle the camp. I think now the team have hit their stride they should be allowed to run with it.

I think now the team have hit their stride they should be allowed to run with it. could be. although I think we still need a goal poacher. Both Blissett and Taylor seem to have a problem putting in the so-called simple chances. Bottom line is that if he doesn't come it just proved we weren't quite right for him, so I'll be glad if he goes elsewhere if the genuine reason was because he really wants Lge 2 footy, bigger wages, or being (slightly) closer to home. re his potential wages. Not sure if it would be a serious issue within the squad. People like Mildy are believed to be on large wages for our level. I bet Parkesy and a few others aren't scratching in the dust either.

Ah well, if the bloke doesn't want to be here then he doesn't want to be here, no big shakes as far as I'm concerned.
