No, it's a cunning plan for the Jan transfer window. Every week, before we play someone, word gets posted on the Net that we are interested in signing their top scorer. Said player then thinks we're interested, so when we play them he's not that keen to score against his hopeful new employers, and possibly scupper his chances of playing in Div 2 next season. Of course, when we play play them and he plays crap we ditch him like we would Skanky Sue from Chasers on a Sunday morning ! Pity this didn't work with Blissett! We'd be 2 points better off if he hadn't scored for Kiddy. Traitor. Future-traitor. Something like that.

Didn't really know where to put this (didn't warrant its own thread), but I see Danny Woodards has been released from Tranmere. Unfortunate with injuries more than anything, but also seems Elliot Richards can't get anywhere near the first team now and I'm pretty sure Matt Gill has been released too.
Has anybody from our infamous 2013-14 squad actually done well since leaving??

Richards was transfer listed today! Remember people clamouring for him not to be swapped? Now he's getting ditched by this season's Torquay. "lol" as they say.

Saying that, I'd have him back where we are now. Clearly loved the Gas and I bet he could net a few down here.

Yes Richards had a lot of talent, but only produced on a limited basis. Who knows, maybe he'll find some consistency as he gets older (amazing to think he's only 23) but he's 100% not the sort of player we need at BRFC right now.

Saying that, I'd have him back where we are now. Clearly loved the Gas and I bet he could net a few down here. Based on what evidence? Raw talent. Remember when people thought Gosling would never be any good? He was visibly upset on Twitter after being unceremoniously told he was to be part of the Gow deal after being with us for so many years. IDK I value any young player who shows loyalty and commitment like that. He had patches of good form and generally good all-round play in league two. What evidence do you have that he wouldn't cut it the conference? He's never played there before has he.

Even in the conference you need to perform at your best both on and off the field more often than not. If he couldn't apply his supposed talents week in week out at a league club how's that going to change by dropping down? Never did enough to convince me he wanted it enough and was never convincing in the games he did play in. There is no way ER would challenge any of our strikers for a place in the first 11. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard.

Saying that, I'd have him back where we are now. Clearly loved the Gas and I bet he could net a few down here. Did he clearly love the gas ? I'm not so sure, I always thought he had ability but rarely looked like he wanted to be there and his performances usually looked that way too.

Based on his reaction to being used as leverage for Gow, yes I'd say he did have some affection. Do you you think he didn't?
