Raw talent. Remember when people thought Gosling would never be any good? He was visibly upset on Twitter after being unceremoniously told he was to be part of the Gow deal after being with us for so many years. IDK I value any young player who shows loyalty and commitment like that. He had patches of good form and generally good all-round play in league two. What evidence do you have that he wouldn't cut it the conference? He's never played there before has he. Even in the conference you need to perform at your best both on and off the field more often than not. If he couldn't apply his supposed talents week in week out at a league club how's that going to change by dropping down? Never did enough to convince me he wanted it enough and was never convincing in the games he did play in. There is no way ER would challenge any of our strikers for a place in the first 11. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard. The first part of your response confused me. The conference is made up of teams that were either relegated from the league for not being good enough and teams that have never been there in the first place, so the quality of football is surely lesser. Therefore a player who has played in the league should find it a step down in challenge (minus possibly in the physicality department), so Eliot as a player who was capable of small runs of form in the league would presumably be capable of more in a lesser league. Whether he would be capable of enough is pure speculation and I can see why he'd be called a luxury player. I'm not saying I want him back, just that I wouldn't be furious if it happened, he's at least on a par with Harrison, without the questionable attitude.

Well... what to say?
Certainly not the type of signings MS was expecting from what he said the other night.

Saying that, I'd have him back where we are now. Clearly loved the Gas and I bet he could net a few down here. Nah, no place for luxury players in this side if you ask me. Yes Richards had a lot of talent, but only produced on a limited basis. Who knows, maybe he'll find some consistency as he gets older (amazing to think he's only 23) but he's 100% not the sort of player we need at BRFC right now. Had he been played up front rather than flogged on the wings by countless managers I think he'd have done well for us.

Did he clearly love the gas ? I'm not so sure, I always thought he had ability but rarely looked like he wanted to be there and his performances usually looked that way too. Based on his reaction to being used as leverage for Gow, yes I'd say he did have some affection. Do you you think he didn't? He always looked like he didn't want to be here I thought. Maybe that's just the way he was but he didn't look like a footballer who was enjoying his football. Maybe there were good reasons for that but I never got the feeling he had close bond with the fans or the club. I'm not slating him , just saying what I saw.

Sometimes you can be in a job that your hearts not really in and if your told your leaving that job you can still be watered off. Nobody likes to be told they're not wanted. I think that's how I would sum up the Richards situation.

On the PFA's list it says Seanan Clucas is a free agent. Thought he went back to Ireland?

I agree, he has the ability on the wing to created the kind of chances that literally anyone could stick in, Blissett and Taylor will get plenty of chances with him in the wing, and I'm sure they'd score enough of them to win games... That being said I'll never turn my nose up at a better striker either haha

What annoys me about Rovers supporters is that they never change their label about a player. Richards was a dramatically changed player last season - he worked hard, produced our only bits of flair in attack but unfortunately for him was shunted out in wide positions so didn't score many. He did PUT THE EFFORT in CONSISTENTLY (in home games) and supporters saw it and appreciated it. I thought it was a terrible move for Rovers to let him go to Exeter. I'd love him to come back but Clarke doesn't rate him - he slagged him off in front of us supporters at the Q & A in the summer.

I don't want Rovers to loan LDV. I want us to offer 50k to sign him on.

You support John ward's view - fair enough - but I think Ward strangled all the creativity and spark out of BRFC last season.

Didn't we want honest answers at the Q & A? You say DC slagged him off but as I heard it DC said he did not train well and did not have the right attitude - which to me was an honest answer?

Some may have seen some quality, fair play to them. To me, he just never looked like he wanted to work hard enough. Unforgivable, again, it's only opinion.
