Do you seriously believe Wael would give JB £3m to spend on new players? As far as Collins playing for Wales, didn't Rob Page suggest he intended to freshen the squad after their WC exit. Why wouldn't Wael give him the money? We have already spent around a £million since this summer with actual transfer fees, agents fees and relocation bonuses for new players and that's not including pay increases for the under contract players. Wael believes the dream, so forks out £2 million a year to cover the shortfall, so yeah, if he thought we could genuinely push for promotion, I think he will spend a couple more million. Which Championship is realistically going to spend £5m on AC when some didn't even spend a penny on transfer fees this summer? www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/birmingham-city/transfer-talk/feature/championship-transfer-ins-and-outs-summer-2022_487098.htmlFans expecting a £2m transfer kitty for JB to spend clearly haven't been Rovers fans for long!!

Will wait for the deadline day bid from Peterborough for 750k paid in installments which we will inevitably accept. Really? Bet you’re wrong. Joey has made a big deal of not having “our pants pulled down”. I would expect the contract extension meant way more cash for Aaron and no release clause for us. Either way. Great to have so many people talking about our striker. What a player.

At the end of the day we're a selling club and always have been in recent memory to survive and even exist.
What the coaching staff have done in last 18 months is nothing short of alchemy. This might also be the optimum time to sell him for the most as no one knows the future regarding injury, AC fitting in with a new club, lockdown, or just him going off the rails - no one knows!?
But.... AC has been the most exciting prospect since JCH and is a more whole all round player. He even feels like he's one of our own with his relationship with fans. He's much loved and has a warmth with the fanbase, he'll be genuinely missed for his personality as well as his baffling engine and athleticism.
If we can keep him for another 18 months and build a team around him, that'll be the statement of intent (for me) that we mean business. Promotion business..

Joey thinks he can get us to the Championship, we wont selling our best players, if we got 5 million, and re invested some of it there is no certainty we will replace him look at Tottenham with the Bale money bought rubbish, loads of it.

Collins has it all. Intelligence, pace, trickery, flair, dribbling, and the ability to create and score goals with either foot. He's also only 25 with his best years still ahead of him.
With 2.5 years left on his contract, we should not be considering offers below £5m in my opinion.
As a fan, I'd rather he stay regardless of the fee because he's a joy to watch and irreplaceable at this level.

No L1 side at our level can turn down bids of £5m, plus would any player be content to earn £2K/3K a week once the realised they could earn £15K+? Lambert was pretty loyal and he even moved in the same division for a pay rise. Our main hope is no Championship club has £3m+ to spend on a L1 striker in January, JCH at £2m(?) may be less of a gamble for them?

If someone offered £5m and Wael said to Joey, “we will keep a mil, and here’s £4m to strengthen your team” I think Joey might not leave. He knows football and how it works. Also, showing other players coming up thah JB’s Bristol Rovers will make you a star and then help you go higher in the game, when the time and the offer is right, is actually good for business. Let’s say he went for £5M to a Norwich, a Stoke etc, what a good story to any up and coming striker considering signing for clubs. Joey can say “look how we developed him and now look where he is” If we spend £3m we could get several really good players. However, goals are the hardest thing to acquire and AC has them, lots of them. And assists. Do you seriously believe Wael would give JB £3m to spend on new players? As far as Collins playing for Wales, didn't Rob Page suggest he intended to freshen the squad after their WC exit. 1 good league 1 player = £400k Annual wages in total = £300K One good l1 player is close on £750k on a one year deal. 4 of those is about £3m

If an good offer comes in then it will depend on whether Collins wants to stay.
For once, Rovers will not accept a poor offer. But if it's a good offer and a player wants to move then he usually does.
Suspect anything less than £2 million will not even be considered.

I'm pretty confident that Azza won't be going anywhere soon remember we have Joey as manager and he's not a pushover or a yes man like DC BG or Tis If the club were to sale Azza against Joeys wishes, im fairly sure Joey will walk as its undoing his plans building a championship side and we all know how hungry he is for promotion. Logically it is the last thing the owners would want given the current sucess he's achieving on tye field plus off the field he's rejuvenated the fan base and fan support. I don’t think that will happen but the club would have to consider that A first team defender that we need, plus money to invest. Question is, who wants to live in Stoke?? UTG

If JB did sign 4 players on £300K p.a. what would the likes of Finley on half that think? What happens next season if we don't go up and still have to find £1.2m in wages but the wage cap is £500K lower?

If Wael agreed to give X amount of money to spend on new players before selling Azza JB would have consented to the agreement and Azza wouldn't have been sold against his wishes

Any potential buyers have to get past Eddie Jennings when negotiating - I think he's a key player in who comes and goes. I totally agree Tilly were a lot more savvy when it comes to transfers these days a good bit of business getting Eddie Jenkins on board. Mind you that's hardly surprising consider we had Tommy the tit dealing with transfers before

We must also remember that for the last few years we have been going between leagues one and two and play in one of the worst, if not the worst stadium in league one. Once any of our players hear about interest from a championship side, they are going to be keen and will end up letting their agent know and then eventually the club if bids are being turned down.

Judging by the way they have been playing together, it’s far more likely that Middlesbrough will be interested in buying Collins and reuniting the pair of them again next season!

2.5 years on his contract. We don't need to consider anything unless it is BIG money. Collins is a Gashead as well which only helps us.
For me and it is stating the obvious, we need to have a real go at strengthening in the weak areas and seeing what we can do this season.
