When I became ill last year, Pete Weymouth (ticket office and retail) picked it up via social media, and very kindly sent me a box of goodies from the club shop. Since then Pete has regularly kept in touch with me via e-mail, asking how things were going and whether there was anything the club could do to help re. attending matches etc. I wasn't well enough to attend all the home games, and having somebody from the club making the effort to keep in touch really made me feel that I was still part of the Rovers "family". Pete has instigated for myself and my son to have hospitality before a game, which was a lovely surprise - my son might have to piggyback me up to those seats in the East Stand, or I'll do it in stages. I've spoken to Pete on the phone, and he said that when he hears of supporters who are having a bad time he thinks, "If that was me, what would I like my club to do?", which I think is a wonderful attitude to have, as he has more than enough to do with the tickets etc. Unfortunately, he does sometimes get abuse on social media, due to the various ticket problems, which have not been of his making and he always endeavours to resolve issues. Some people seem to think that he is personally responsible for delays caused by the postal strikes! Just wanted to give him a well deserved shout out. UTG

UTG Makes BRFC what it is, and I know "family club" gets bounded about, but we really are. We look after our own and whether it be an offer of hospitality or just a few posts on a forum to send someone best wishes, we're all there for whomever needs it.

Great to hear Tilly. Have a lot of time for Pete and the great attitude he seems to have, sometimes under undeserved criticism on social media, and he is a credit to the club.

Good call Tilly. I posted much the same last year when he helped me after losing the plot with Ticketmaster, he really is a great advert for the club as are so many others.

Great to hear that Tilly. Easy to sit and do nothing but to hear it’s regular is special. Well done Pete, a credit to himself and the club.

Pete has been really good at looking out for others - perhaps because he has had problems of his own? When he was brave enough to share that some ‘people’ went after him with abuse and saying he wasn’t up to the job!
I think he’s brilliant and a credit to the club.
His X account is still making announcements but he (sadly but understandably imo) has made it non reply unless you are mentioned.

I hope he’s ok and hasn’t left!

Glad to hear that Pete is still at Rovers. I've heard people talk of the abuse he receives, and it is unbelieveable that people would stoop so low, and be so hateful towards somebody.
