It's obviously not going to matter to us this year but I've been watching the ILT T20 cricket tournament and their play off system seems fairer than the EFL in terms of rewarding the teams with the better records. Under this system:
Top two promoted
3 plays 4 with the winning team going straight to the Wembley final
5 plays 6 with the winner playing the loser of 3 v 4 for a place in the final.
