Not win at all costs but we need something to increase confidence on the pitch and the terraces.
It has been said that we the fans have often been the 12th man, but now with a relatively young side there is no doubt they can do with our support.
In my mind's eye they are still a Premier League club in all but name, so why not adopt a cup tie philosophy and really give the team all the support we can.
If we cheer every tackle and really raise the volume for every corner etc, we can make it a real cup tie atmosphere.

Unfortunately the last Cup tie we had against them was in 1978, and we were robbed then. At least it won't be snowing.

With the poor run we’re on at the moment it’s got the making of a Valentine’s Day massacre but the good thing with football is it got the ability to throw up the unexpected. I remember a few years ago under Garner we had an home game against Sunderland when we were struggling & they were near the top, not many fans gave us a chance & gave the game a miss, but we turned in one of the best performances of the season & beat them 2-0, let’s hope for something similar Tuesday night.

Not looking forward to this . On paper we could have 8 players out Anderton Grant Rossiter Gibson Coutts Finley Loft Gibbons etc etc. Officals who seem to be against us. A probability of 6 straight defeats : low moral and paranoia we may slip and slip and get relegated.
However: you are right . We know our position. It's the story of our club and we have a fanbase who can give us a boost in times of adveristy. On paper it's an easy win for Ipswich but you never know in football!.

Absolutely. We were superb that night and then only the covid lockdown denied Garner's team going on a run and winning promotion!

Long journey for them so can't see that many from Suffolk being at the Mem.Recall one poster on here when we won there under GC to go fourth said ,'It's almost in Belgium!!!!!' Will our dismal form affect the attendance? Suspect the allure of a 'Big Club' may overcome many's reluctance hopefully.

Ipswich sold 1200 tickets in 48 hours and would of brought 2000. Same as Pompey and the other BIG SIX who sell out in hours. We are losing hundreds of thousands a season on restrictions for away fans. P.s looking at the gaps and how many tickets we sold. I would be inclined to let them have another 200_300 tickets . Every other club is fighting to sell tickets. We seem to be turning good money away !.

Exactly!. They take the South / west stand down to increase terrace capacity. But restrict away support because there isn't enough seats.

To be fair the club have announced plans to investigate developing the South Stand.
It probably wouldn't have been cost effective in the previous 4-5 seasons up to last March, but at least they are aware at last that without the rugby, the pitch could be moved about 10 yards nearer the Blackthorn and there would be about 20 yards extra space at the Tent end.
Even if the new thing is a temporary tent, they surely must be looking at something larger which will increase capacity and that will help when the big clubs come next season.
Also if the likes of Blackpool and Stevenage are in the division, the club could offer more quid a kid type games to fill the spaces.
Plus if we actually concentrate on cup games, you never know, we might get a top 6 prem team or a PJ Trophy semi final.

I'm frustrated because we are losing on away fans hundreds of thousands each game. Muff extra 2000 Exter extra 1000. IPSWICH extra 1000. That's 4000 x £25 = 100k . The BIG SIX still to come maybe extra 10000 x £25k. That's £250k. We could be talking about 400k on just away fans. Of course we need to be in one next season. The extra revenue generated from away fans should at least justify a much larger temp stand next season. Also bigger crowds generate better atmosphere. I just want the club to maximise this market. I'm glad the club are looking into a new south stand and hope building work starts soon.

Tony Craig's 500th league game I think, glad that the lads made it a game to remember.

Tuesday? It'll be a cold night at the Mem, trying to stop my legs, arms, back from shivvering themselves into my seat wondering why after going 2 nil down after 20 minutes I'm not at home, in a lovely warm room, watching Father Brown on the vBox with a cup of Horlicks.

Really hoping we give it a go … would start the young lad from Villa.
I think Barton will tamper with the starting eleven again causing utter chaos and we are three down in half an hour.
The one positive is he doesn’t have too many to chose from … oh and Loft is banned!
