How's the team "make shift" when only Gibson is out injured, which is down to JB signing an injury prone player, and Finley the only player suspended? Personally I'd give JB the next 3 games to get a win or at least 3 pts - Oxford (A), Barnsley (H), FGR (A) - if he can't then he may as well depart as I doubt he'll get another win this season, only he, and his sidekick EJ, can take the blame for what seems to have been a shocking January Blimey topper. You flip and flop like a demented trout. I can't keep up. You were calling people out for being anti-Barton a couple of days ago. Including me. I am people. Just had enough after today's game, I thought we'd turned the corner on Tuesday night but today, after Burton scored, was as bad as anything we've seen this season. Hopefully he can turn things around in the next 3 games or otherwise we might be back in L2 next season.

Some bad drugs have been imbibed by anyone saying "Barton out". Why, we can't win a game to save our lives at the moment, something's got to give soon if that run continues.

I hope I am wrong but I think we will go down, how the hell are we going to pick up 13 points with this team.As for sacking Barton I think it's to late now,it will be all on his shoulders come may and he will surely walk. And then the problems really begin on and off the field.

I really think we need the obvious option which is not in this poll. Barton goes if we get relegated. The final choice at the moment suggests we stick with him even if we go down.
I still think we'll be ok. There's a biggish gap from us to teams who aren't picking up many points, and we won't be this bad for the rest of the season. I hope.

Suppose its a good thread for those that have waited and hated for 18 months. Why does any critism of JB make the poster a Barton hater,I just think he is a very poor manager as well as an as##ole. But I would still like Rovers to do well as long as he's in charge.

Honestly the “Barton hater” response just shows them up. I want him to succeed. But some are so weird about any criticism of him. Currently out of his depth

I still think we'll be ok. There's a biggish gap from us to teams who aren't picking up many points, and we won't be this bad for the rest of the season. I hope. You're right. I forgot to add what is a fairly obvious option, sack Barton at the end of the season if we're relegated. I realised straight after posting but I don't think I can change it now?
I did put a note in my OP to see if a Mod could add it to the poll but maybe it's not possible?
This is not a 'I hate Barton' thread. I am not a Barton hater. I rarely get involved in the non football talk about our manager and I thought he was the right man for the job when he was appointed 2 years ago. I've got no problem with Barton being our manager as long as his team delivers on the pitch and I still hope he can turn things around.
However, I think a decision probably needs to be made after the next 3 games to give us time to appoint a new manager - if that's the route we decide to go down - and give him time to try and turn things around. If we can win just one of our next three games I'd be tempted to stick with Barton until the end of the season and hope we can scrape the points we need to stay up. If we fail to win any of our next 3, possibly losing 9 of our last 10 fixtures, I'd reluctantly let him go; and I do mean reluctantly.
I am slightly surprised that 25 out of 54 would stick with Barton even if we go 20 league games without a win and are relegated to L2. Given we've already lost 5 of our last 6, that could potentially mean losing 19 of our last 20 games. Has a manager ever survived a run like that?
Of course, only Wael can decide Bartons future, and he stuck by him during a sticky start to last season, so who knows what he's thinking right now. I just wanted to gauge the feeling amongst supporters after our recent poor run. Seems opinions differ quite a lot.

Odd that none of them are posting on it... Who, precisely, is them? I'm not sure if it was a sarcastic post suggesting that only Barton haters have contributed to the thread or a wise observation that actually, none of the main targets for that label (you, me, Mario etc) have actually posted an opinion on it.

Right. What I don't get is the concept of "waiting and hating for 18 months" as quoted. Really??

I think Joe has forgotten what his success here was built on. Likes to attack and go toe to toe he says. Yet last season we played with one striker. A bank of creative but strong attacking midfielders. A bank of deeper tackling midfielders.
Im not sure the solution to conceding goal after goal is to load the side with strikers.
Confidence can play a big part in football so grinding out a few clean sheets can really help. We got one in the week the aim should have been to get another on saturday. Instead it was back to the formula that has us on the bad run. If we had the best defenders in league one playing open football would be fine. We dont, we have adequate defenders for league one and we are putting them under too much pressure.

We started yesterday's game with just the one striker Marquis, with Collins playing behind him, it seemed like a 4-4-1-1 formation.
The first goal came from a simple punt upfield, after Quansah should have put us 2-0 up, so I doubt the formation played any part in that crucial goal.

It was listed prematch as 433 but as players swap around a lot its difficult to keep track. A striker is still a striker even if he is playing at left back. Quansah jumped and missed the ball in an out of position place. Leaving Connelly covering 2 men . A free shot was inevitable, unfortunately it went in. 4411 seems mightily similar to the 442 that Joe told the Cowleys would see them drop down the table...

Fall into relegation zone at any time after all the backing he said he's had, and yep he's got to go.
Get us in play offs, and yep he's got to stay.
Probably best chances are after 7 matches, somewhere in between.
Note: we were 17th in the February when we went on the surge culminating in Lambo at 'pools....
