Oxford United have this morning sacked manager Karl Robinson following their 0-3 home defeat to Bristol Rovers.

They got a tricky run-in, could easily get sucked in to the drop zone now and who ever takes over has no window to work with.

Sad to see another manager go. I hope the Oxford directors didn't take yesterday's result into consideration when making their decision, as Oxford would have lost whoever was in charge of them.

I had a feeling that was coming after yesterday, said as much in the match thread. He has a decent budget for the level, the club is going backwards if anything and it must be stale there. Losing to a team like us 3-0 at home when we have been struggling recently ourselves must have been the cherry on top of the icing on the cake.

Obviously easier to sack one man than 11. Listened to Brannagan on BBC Oxford as we drove away. He banged on about looking after his teammates, playing for them, the shirt, the club, the fans, the directors,... anyone but the manager. Very revealing.

Who do we think they will go for? I could see them going back in for former managers Michael Appleton or Chris Wilder.

Sounds like they had dressing room issues - before the game they were saying on the radio that there was an ominous air to MT going to PV at the death on deadline day.

Blimey you really are Einstein ! 😮 How on earth did you predict a bloke who’d lost loads of games in a row from a side that was expecting a promotion push might get the sack ? Hats off to you.

Pretty certain we wouldn't have found it so easy yesterday if Robinson hadn't already seemingly lost the changing room.

The only difference is, when you look at their squad on paper, they hardly have a team full of Jack Baldwins and Ben Liddle’s. They have a fairly decent squad.

It hasn't come as a great surprise, as it was already well documented he was on dodgy ground I was surprised he didn't go after the Cambridge game www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64745212

They have done fairly well under him until this season, always been towards the play offs. No sad to see him sacked but think they should have stuck with him.
