Looking ahead slightly here however I see the odd reference here and there on social media and I think Twentyman referred to it as such on his show last week that April “looks like the month of death” for our fixtures.
Is it really though ?
Fixtures are
Charlton Fleetwood Derby Sheff weds Port vale Plymouth Peterborough
Now Derby Sheff weds and Plymouth I will give you that, anything out of those three is a bonus but the rest of them without sounding disrespectful aren’t particularly teams I’d be including in a month of death. If you substituted maybe Ipswich and Bolton in for fleetwood and port vale then yes I’d probably go along with that however our record against the other 4 teams out with Plymouth Sheff and derby this season reads
Won away Drew at home Won at home Won at home
Also add to that we actually drew with Plymouth and home and Sheff weds away.
So we certainly are very capable of picking up points against these sides. I also appreciate they are more than capable of turning us over, however “the month of death”when you dissect it I think is a bit much.
Cue us picking up 0 points now I’ve said this 🤣

Very difficult to predict what goes on in any April. It's more about desire than ability, or at least as much.

One win will almost certainly do it even if our last ten is W 1 D0 L9 . I still can't see Mk getting 16 points from 10 with our better GD. I be surprised if you need 49 points !.

I think the gas are fairly safe and have done enough as there are teams lower down the league that are it worse position and form than the gas. 6 points should do it 9 to be certain. My favourites for the drop FGR, Cambridge, Morecombe and Oxford I think MK Dons and Accrington Stanley will survive by the skin of their teeth. Oxford and Accrington face off on the last day of season so it could come down to the last day

But, if you are right and it did come down to that match it would be incredible. Back in the 1960s Accrington went out of the league to be replaced by Oxford. Fast forward to 2006 (?) and Oxford were relegated out of the EFL to be replaced by Accrington. It would be uncanny if you were right Toggsy, those two clubs are strangely linked by their history. UTG!

Many games in April will not go according to form, league table, league position , we will pick up more points than some folk expect.

UTG! Going by Oxford's form who can't seem to win for toffee at the moment I'd rather be in our position than in Oxford's. If you look at Oxford's run they don't have an easy run in with games against Sheffield Wednesday, Barnsley, Pompey and Peterborough which are all tough games. And if they lose against Morecombe the weekend they are in serious trouble

They are not helped by MK Dons finding some form. Oxford v Accrington on the last day of the season could well be a relegation decider.
