Change comes for all sorts of reasons. Sometimes from within, sometimes because of circumstances; and sometimes because of external pressure. At Rovers changes are needed. The regime which has seen us slip from upper L1 to Conference in a short space of time cannot continue to work in the same way. It may be that changes are under way, and we may never know exactly what has brought about change. All we can do as fans is keep the pressure up. Make it clear that we will no longer accept the same old...........
This is meant positively. We want the best for our club. We want to move forward together behind a successful team.
James Macnamara wrote a piece in Friday's Bristol Post about our meeting planned for Tuesday. There is a letter in today's Bristol Sunday Independent on page 6 which Richard Latham was instrumental in having printed.
Perhaps, just perhaps, news of this meeting, and the work of those behind BRISA has filtered through. Perhaps, just perhaps, it has focused minds.
So let's have a good turn out on Tuesday, 7.30pm at the Wellington. Let's keep the pressure up.

Just echoing Pirate 49s words. We supporters need to come together and show the same passion like we do on matchdays and come to the meeting - you won't just have to listen. You can take a full part and feel/be involved in something which just might make the club's leaders heads turn round and think !! and take notice.

This will be an interesting gauge of how supporters feel about our current plight, if you have an opinion/voice please turn up and state your thoughts amongst genuinely concerned Gasheads.
A Reminder : 7.30pm Tuesday Night at The Wellington Pub, Horfield.

The problem is JTS that only people that have a strong feelings will turn up.
I cant turn up, but I am not sure I would even if I could.
Personally I am angry and sad at how this club has been run into the ground over the last few years, and the football on offer has been poor for years. I also feel completely disenfranchised from the club. However I really dont feel that there is anything I can do that will make any difference. All I can do is just turn up and watch what I am given and support the team or I stop going.
I fear you guys are just wasting your time and energy and all you are going to be met with is a brick wall. This will lead to a further spiral of anger towards the people that are running OUR club. I know that all this is done with good intentions, but I just dont think it will make any difference.
I have never hoped to be so wrong.

One thing's for certain, if nobody even tries to help make a difference there will most certainly be no difference. In which case our destiny is to fail. Very, very sad.

Using an analogy - for many decades ordinary people in Eastern Europe protested and resisted the system that tried to grind them down but in the end the pressure told - the penny dropped and the communist system collapsed. That's the end of my history lesson LOL!

Sad indeed.

Have you invited anyone from the club ? Not directly. This meeting is for the fans. Let's get our thoughts and ideas brought together BEFORE the EGM and Q&A(whenever that might be!) We really have no other avenues for letting the club know how we feel. The press (Bristol Post and Bristol Sunday Independent) are following this. The outcome/s of our meeting will be reported to them. There is so much anger and frustration...we must try something more than writing threads on forums!

I would love to be there but living twenty five miles away and the wife a week overdue, I don't think it's a risk I want to take with my life!

If you lie down and accept sh**e, that is exactly what you will get and maybe deserve. Sorry I am away this week but would definitely be there and am proud that you guys are at least giving it a shot.
Even if nothing changes, you can rest easy knowing you tried.

I've a feeling the club may make a premptive strike in the shape of a news conference early next week that may have some extremely interesting news. Right now this is more of a hunch based in the little that has leaked out. In anycase, it would make sense to carry on with this regardless. I know very well the the board are feeling the pressure. I am hoping it bears fruit.

Her ma will be in charge by then anyway and it's a short walk from Southmead maternity suite so where better to wet the babies head? Good luck! ;-)

Thanks Si, you know i wasn't gonna get involved in this, but it's supporters just like you that ignite something in me. You truly deserve better in my opinion and i can't just sit back and cross my fingers.
