He had a great game other than not defending well for their goal. He was left with two men , probably should have just gone wide but if the player who gave their winger the ball who wasn’t marked and had all the time in the world had ran through and scored ? Defenders in those situations tend to stay in the zone between the two players with the priority being defending the central area which is what he did. I’m not convinced it was poor defending by him more a case of bad team defending. |

Ive just watched it back a few times and do think Hoole should have gone to the winger as Ward was coming across to cover the guy with the ball. Then after the cross came in there was Connolly and Gordon marking absolutely nobody while their top scorer was left all alone. |

Very poor team defending It was but I think we’ve been pretty good generally lately , I mean the fleetwood goal was another example of very poor defending but it was the only occasion in the whole game for example. Clean sheet v Charlton and I wasn’t there today as I’m on holiday but it looks from the stats like we dominated the clear cut chances and possession. Looking forward to Tuesday night. |

Being realistic we are going to make mistakes defending both as individuals and as a unit,if we didn't they would all be playing in the Premiership and even there you see poor defending so I can't get to excited about it as it's part of the game,forwards miss chances and defenders make mistakes if neither happened what a boring game it would be. |

In Luca and Flash Gordon we have two of the best young wing backs we have had for years, hopefully can sign Gibson in the summer and tie them all down with decent length contracts.
