How good was he today?
Surely we play players in their best positions. He has got the ability to be a very good league One full back. I just hope he doesn't get messed around by being positioned at centre back, or one of the back three again when we have other options.

Awesome today. One of JBs errors of the season shoving him at cb (with young players or Whelan) and then claiming he lost confidence!
Can see him being worth a pile of cash very soon or captaining us at our first game in the prem at the fruit bowl!
Big Luca fan, made up for him.

To quote me earlier this year “I don’t think Luca is good enough for league 1 at present. He may become good enough but he’s young, we need a replacement and ease Luca in over a couple of years”

One of the very few youngsters we have persevered with despite a mixed bag of performances, as others say this has been partly due to not having a settled defence or position, hope he continues to develope.

I think Luca had a fantastic game. I think RB may be his best position for now but he has lots of good attributes for a CB and I can easily see him ending up a very good player in that role. He’s so young (still only 20?) and is still learning his trade. Important to remember that.

I heard there was about a dozen scouts from various clubs at the match yesterday, probably to look at Collins or a couple of Charlton players, but I would imagine it was our very own Luca Hoole who caught there eye, the lad oozed quality throughout the game.

You also said “at present” and he’s got better and better as a FB, so you were partly right. As a young player he’ll be more inconsistent but doing well in L1, as he’s done recently, is a lot harder than doing it in L2. one of the plusses of the season I think. But well done for making half an apology. (Well, I think that’s what it was.) 🤔 UTG! |

Outstanding yesterday, special mention to Lewis Gordon who I thought was terrific also. His best performance so far, too many games being caught out of position, being turned inside out by wingers, but yesterday was a job well done. |

Doing very well now and must have needed to be taken out of the spotlight for a bit so in that respect Joey managed him well |

Joey talked about Luca’s drop in confidence after playing him out of position alongside Glen Whelan. Joey has got lots right. But he won’t admit when he gets it this wrong. |

Luca Hoole however, has come on exceptionally well this season and has taken his game to another level. One or two wayward crosses first half but his attack play down the right flank second half today was superb. You can see his maturity & confidence coming on leaps & bounds. Long May it continue.
Not sure on the million pound player shout mind😂
