Haven’t seen a mention of it on any thread yet, a fantastic addition to the fanzone area for the lunchtime kick off & Grand National after the match.
Hopefully will tempt more Gasheads to part with their cash in the grounds of the football club going forward, arguably the fanzone is now complete.
Alcohol, soft drinks, burgers, chips, live band, jerk chicken, dohnuts/sweet treats and now giant screen with live football. Should sort us out for August/September and April/May!
& yes I do think it deserves its own thread, so sue me😁😁

I was at the ground at about 1pm today, and there were already plenty of people there.
I was thinking to myself what a difference has been made a little at a time over the last few years.
The renovated bar and shop, the outside bars, food stalls, match day shop and band playing on stage. Now the big screen showing the prem game too! There's a really good buzz around the place pre-match. People want to get there and feel the atmosphere build.
The result is that this season we are a mid-table team with a pretty terrible home record and yet, with nothing to play for, we sell out.
For those that claim there is no progress, off the pitch we are miles ahead of where we were five or six years ago.

It’s been a fantastic addition by the club.
Hopefully some type of cover can be put up so it’s used all season long. Not sure how viable that is.

Iv enjoyed the fanzone this but on very busy match days it’s been hard to get a drink with long queues for the bars. Maybe an idea is a quick can bar where one cider and one larger are sold . Thatchers gold of course and whatever the most popular larger we sell is . Quick and easy and the club could still make a good profit ! 😊

I do like the idea of having an outdoor screen to watch the early kick off game.
However, I didn't like the positioning.
Where is was put created a crowd that made it difficult to pass from the memorial gates to Ollies Bar and back again.
I think it would work better above the turnstile for the old family area at a 45 degree angle.
Bringing the added benefit that you could watch the screen with one eye and the band with the other.
There was a wooded shed a few games ago selling Thatchers out of bottles and they had a couple of boxes of cider open. It was by the burger van. Has that been removed then?
There is a fine line (no pun intended) between getting the serving of drinks right in that area. The fanzone has definitely taken the pressure off the club house bars.
Previously, there was a back door entrance into the right side of the clubhouse bar, by the burger stand. We should allow that to be used to remove the long wait times at Ollies bar.
Most fans in that queue would buy an extra drink if we could get them served quicker.
