Decent player when fit, but after the season he’s had to (allegedly) start asking for more money is bizarre as it is ill informed. His agent probably sees it as; Signed as league 2 - now league 1 Gates were 6000 now 8000 Capacity was 9000 hopefully will soon be 12000 Club maybe going to new multi million pound stadium And each year we have record shirt sales, record STs and record bar takings. Joey says players in the same division on 25k a week. It's good publicity for the fans to be on this upward trend, but no doubt Harry's agent wants a piece of the action. For me a quality hard working player. I would definitely look to keep. Unfortunately we have lots of quality players that have injury and fitness issues. I would look to reduce the standard wage for all our players, (so if they are injured, we don't have to pay so much) but give very very good appearance and performance incentives, so if they play and the club does well they will get rewarded.

So a player gets a leg break from a wild tackle and you suggest he gets a cut in wages? Also would training get rough as players look to take rivals out of the match day squad?

If a scaffolderbreaks his leg, doesn't he lose a lot of wages? Lots of Rovers staff are on zero hours contracts. If they can't do their job for whatever reason, they don't get paid. I was thinking of smallish margins to safeguard the club some of the mammoth loses, say changing a basic wage of £2.5k a week to £2k a week but an additional £2k win bonus and an additional 10k promotion bonus. If the team is successful and the player is playing they can get more money overall. If we win more, more fans attend, spend more over the bar and in the shops etc

Plus most players seem to have genuine injuries so it's not as if we're going to get any more out of them by offering them playing bonuses.

What a great incentive for a player to put his body on the line for the team. Get injured and we’ll punish you and your family financially

Get injured and we’ll punish you and your family financially statuary sick pay should keep them motivated to play on one leg That is exactly the reason I’m handing my notice in at my place of employment Monday, had to take two weeks off sick, that’s the most sick days I’ve had in 25 years and they pay me statutory sick pay, doesn’t motivate me to want to do my best for them.

Cheers Axe, it wasn’t even me, it was my son,but he’s good now, apart from demanding to go to Port Vale, but I sent him to football training instead. I’ve thought the hunger of not being in employment will make me look harder and find a fresh new challenge.

Decent player when fit, but after the season he’s had to (allegedly) start asking for more money is bizarre as it is ill informed. On the flip side, and putting the notion of being in what’s considered an exceptionally well paid job… If you were in a job and your peers were paid twice, possibly three times what you’re on would you give it your all? Or would you try and find another job whilst possibly playing your employer against others? So as to get the best value for your career. These aren’t premier league footballers we’re talking about here. These are league one footballers. Some of them are on a killing but there are also those on amounts that aren’t that high compared to a fairly normal job. Their career could be over in a misplaced tackle or an awkward landing. Nick Anderton is sadly an example of this. No idea what Harry is on but these points could apply. If the employee is then not performing as they should it becomes bloody awkward to try and justify those increases.

He's in Lincoln this week, could he be heading back there? I was in Lincoln this week taking part in a tournament at the LNER stadium… unfortunately no scouts, my team didn’t do too great and I definitely ain’t getting signed! 😂 We did help raise over £6.5k for Cancer Research though so all good 👍😊

Harry can definitely do a job in league one and as he can play a number of positions is a great addition to a squad. Wouldn’t be Suprised to see him at a L1 club or a very ambitious L2 club. Good lad too. Alway remember that close out away at MK dons

You should have had Harry as a ringer in your team.
