Do you mean about 50% of this forum? Proud to be in the 50% that absolutely did not want him back. Not needed, not good enough, nowhere near worth 250k🤢 Yep , I also said it was madness to pay that for him. Even on a free I wouldn’t of been fussed if he signed or not .

Agree about McCormick - I am hoping JB looks straight into the camera and says " Got this one seriously wrong" and he is moved on. The same could be argued for his good pal Evans and his three year deal. Loft equally.
That said ... A good pre season for all of them could just make a difference and we see an uplift in performance - caveat though none are anywhere near good enough for a top L1 side chasing glory if indeed that is the plan.

Not sure why you all want to throw about £1m out of the window.
McCormick, Loft, Evans need to step up and prove their worth. Luke is still young and obviously has some talent. Wouldn’t be against a short loan for him and loft tho if they don’t break in properly in pre season.
Grant should get a very short term contract to prove his fitness.
Clarke I guess we will have to pay off.
Spend wiser this summer Joey!
Edit. Connolly needs time. Still young and good cover in a back 4

Evans has not had the best of seasons but don't think he has been played in a position where he can excel. If collins goes then I think he would be ideal replacement to play there.

Have seen comments about players not being up to top six L1 players. Remember the Francis team, won the league but not one player featured in the L1 team of the year. Leicester won top tier, doubt many of their players were tagged as top of the league players at the start of the season. How many top tier players do Chelsea have at the moment?
Is it more about coaching, tactics, formations etc? The players need to be of some standard with the ability to take on board these points fr the team and improve as individuals.

Plus both the teams mentioned were really playing for each other and were much more than the sum of their parts. I am not sure about Leicester but we had a fair few local players and some good, if un fancied players, from higher level. Our scouting network was decent too. Can you imagine any story of a tea lady giving a club a tip on any player but now ?

One things for sure JB needs to sign players that fit into his systems of play. Personally think Evans, Loft and Mccormick all good enough for league one, but not playing in a system that suits their play. Loft is an absolute battering ram, but only used to chase lost causes, must be demoralising? Could score plenty in a side that crosses the ball? Some players also need a run of games to find form, plus we are a young side and I'm sure they will learn from the experience of this season. Personally I hope we keep most of this seasons squad, a good solid base to add to. I will say we definitely need a strong header of the ball to lead the back line. A midfielder who can shoot from distance would be a real addition, we really didn't score enough from outside the box.

Last season Evans 10 Finlay 5 Grant 3 Nicholson 5 Anderson H 6 Anderson E 7 36 goals This season Evans 5 Finlay 0 Anderson H 0 Sinclair 5 10 goals (so far)

I’m not convinced Loft will ever score in any great numbers, I think he’s got about 20-30 career goals at the age of 25 and his first touch is diabolical for a pro footballer. Would still love him to prove me wrong but can’t see it.
