Belshaw on the bench , think his days are numbered with the Gas. I don’t think so - my reading is Anssi is out of contract and likely to retire to focus on coaching, Ward whilst a good prospect isn’t ready to challenge to be a Number 1 in League One yet so I’d I expect him to go to National League on a season long loan and that leaves us with a vacant spot for a keeper… despite some of his early wobbles, Balcombe I think is a decent keeper and I see this as us doing some final checks to see whether we look to have him with us next season as he, like Belly is a modern day keeper… Might also be that we’ve had contact with his parent club who saw we gave Jed another game and suggested if we give Balcombe a start before the end of the season they might knock a bit more off the loan fee. |

I understand playing your fringe/young players
But I don't understand playing the loan players
Especially Balcombe, but we'll see I guess!

I think we've been able to attract better loan players over the last few seasons because we give them games. If we don't, then these players will go elsewhere. |
