Who and what are this ‘Bristol City?’ Never heard of them before I think you mean Bristol City 1982 to give them their full title! 👍 UTG! Aren’t they also a Ltd company (in more ways than one)? |

Easily done when you were born in the 90s or 00s. I think this could easily have happened to us too. Perhaps they’ll google the individuals in future. I was born at the start of the 80s and I would have to google this to find out. With no links to Ireland I had more interest as a kid into the Balkan war than Ireland. I agree, it’s only people probably late 40s and up who would even recognise this. I remember some guy chucking hand grenades but wouldn’t know the name. There is a curious obsession with this war with sections of fans. I put this down to partly some of these guys being ex or related to squaddies who served over there, and partly as it offends people and shows a belligerent patriotism. Shutting it down just increases the taboo factor. I think a lot of folks forget their youth and why young lads say things like this, it’s to feel big, bad and tough. Most have no idea why they’re singing it. |
