Balcombe 5 - no saves

Gibbons 5 - doesn't look more than a back-up full back in League 1
Quansah 4 - possibly at fault for first, definitely at fault for the second. Too prone to costly mistakes at this stage of his development
Gibson 6 - best of the back four
Gordon 5 - spends too much time going backwards and slowing the game down

Ward 6 - good in patches
Bogarde 5.5 - did some good work but some mistakes
Finley 4 - this season has not been League 1 quality. Lots of dead balls in 1st half but no magic deliveries.

Marquis 4.5 - unusually poor
Coburn 5.5 - one of his better games in recent times. Missed a good chance in second half
Loft 5 - In October he looked to be a top player but now seems a long way off that level

Subs: Sinclair 6.5 - added a threat in the second half
Hoole 5.5 - looked better than Gibbons going forward but a number of errors and should of scored
MacDonald 6 - played further advanced that Gordon and was more effective
Evans 6.5 - a big upgrade on Finley on dead balls and passing
Collins 6 - looked more of a threat than of late

Balcombe 4 has he ever made a save?

Gibbons 4 can't defend, can't cross what can you do?
Quansah 3 at partial fault with both goals thoroughly unimpressed.
Gibson 6 stuck to his man and shining example of defence play at this level.
Gordon 5 bobbed about a bit but otherwise poor.

Ward 7.5 nice shot for flapper save and generally all round mid play kept tempo up.
Bogarde 5 unfortunately haven't seen the best of him in his spell here I feel he could do much better.
Finley 4 poor. After yesterday many misplaced passes I think his form has been erratic at best.

Marquis 5 not his best, but could see what he was trying to do.
Coburn 8 m o m as led the line alone, capitalised on a opportune poachers goal and took plenty of knocks. Fouls galore on him last night and temperament never boiled over. Could've scored one more at least..
Loft 4 if Lofty scores we're on the pitch. I like his enthusiasm work ethic, attitude and engine but he's never going to cut the mustard at this level. He hasn't stepped up.

Subs: Sinclair 8 some great trickery, they couldn't cope and bar only denied him of scoring.
Hoole 5 caught in possession and missed a sitter header!
MacDonald 4 will we see him again? Hope not in the quarters.
Evans 6.5 still needs to work on his game, set pieces and positioning albeit a much better defensive play this season....but ultimately a disappointing campaign.
Collins 6 pranced into a delicious forward movement and equally as easy needless yellow card. Ok he's off and his swan song will be on Sunday but it's been an absolute joy to watch generally, not his best last night .

Ref 8 very good and got most things correct. 6 mins added time got their commentary talking but when you go down holding head as if sniper from Ukraine has got you when there's literally nothing that touched you, prepare for some refs to take as much offence as I did...
Shrewsbury 5 thoroughly outplayed, they recognised it but their defence held out like ours could only wish for. SC comments are spot on.

21 shots and 69% possession with us playing some delectable play wasn't enough to breach their well organised defence.

But hey, they beat us. I wish JAB would contemplate that because I feel he mismanaged the situation and was too slow to respond. Plus.... playing balcombe instead of belly contributed to our downfall.
