He is the best manager since Holloway imo, he gets us and he's passionate, Holloway has said it himself. Accept for the 1 or 2 on here I think most see that 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Barton demonstrably is not the greatest since Holloway, but I get why he is a favourite for many. I like his passion too. Big 6 months for him. Fail again during the transfer window and get off to another bad start and he’ll rightly be gone by Christmas. Optimistic he will get it right this summer, tho. Then he just needs to play to our strengths and stop acting like a 19yr old terrace billy big bollox. Unless another club came in for him, i just feel he will never have the same level of control he has here and i think it would be a very difficult sacking, i have asked the question before, do you think Wael would have the gall to do so but let’s hope it doesn’t come to that and maybe we even get off to a good start

I think the only club that might interest him could be Sheff Weds - but as has been said before he wont rule the roost there like he does here - he won't like that. Wael literally gives him everything he wants and no doubt would offer him a bigger and even better contract if it was asked for.
The other three would be crazy calls to go to - all three are on a slippery slope potentially - think all will struggle in their respective decisions next season.
My biggest fear is not JB leaving but the damage that will be done to our infra structure given he has brought so many of 'his own' people to the club. Any new manager would really have his work cut out to rebuild effectively -
Given his end of season rally cry I would be disappointed but not surprised if he were to move on - Not sure his CV is polished enough and calling out for a bigger challenge just yet. There are proven successful people ahead of him for sure -

He is the best manager since Holloway imo, he gets us and he's passionate, Holloway has said it himself. Accept for the 1 or 2 on here I think most see that What criteria are we using? I loved Holloway as manager at the time - but he didn't earn us promotion to the 2nd tier (as manager), so if that is the criteria then Gerry Francis was our last "best" manager. If you are talking purely football aesthetics then that is entirely subjective imo. I very much enjoyed watching the football in the Holloway era (aside from his final season - but that is the case for most managers ), also the Trollope era and DC era. The 2nd half of last season under JB was enjoyable too. If we're talking PPG and promotions at any level etc then surely again we must consider Trollope/LL to be the best since Holloway, until they were superseded by DC's achievements and after that even GC (in his short tenure) was gathering a decent PPG tally in L1. & after that; JB - although his L1 record with us is pretty poor, if we're honest. I just find Holloway and Barton an odd comparison. Unless your criteria is purely on the "celebrity" aspect. Coupled with the "passion" and propensity to make memorable statements to the media (whether daft, controversial or insightful).. I'll be interested to see how we do next season - as there is a lot of work to be done if we are going to elevate ourselves from a team that finishes 17th in L1 to a team challenging for promotion to the Championship. Luton/Coventry should be a big inspiration to any club at our level, but the odds are still hugely against us. I see even the local Portsmouth news outlet have their knives out ready for if he fails to deliver... www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/football/portsmouth-fc/pompey-critic-joey-barton-in-quit-vow-if-he-cant-lead-bristol-rovers-to-the-championship-4144956

Sorry but you have all read the title wrong.
Barton is silly every season, his ban is just the start for the next one 😀

I have been on social media for the last hour since hearing of JB's 3 match stadium ban and his links with betting bans etc and it is amazing the number of jobs the "hated" Joey Barton is being linked with! Apparently wanted by Cardiff, Reading are interested and Sheff Wednesday fans want him to replace Moore. He was spotted in Blackpool, allegedly, and Blackpool fans are putting 2 + 2 together. Personally, I cannot see him leaving us willingly, as he has so much control over affairs here, which may not be the case elsewhere and I think he sees the potential that the club currently appears to have. The 4 teams mentioned, in my view are currently on a downward trajectory and despite all 4 being ex-premier league, I can see us competing with them on the pitch and IF the FM comes off I can see us competing with them off the pitch and being in a stronger position than them in hopefully the not too distant future. Hopefully JB will see us challenging for a Championship place in the next 2 seasons, as he has suggested this is his aim, and that off the pitch we have news of either a new stadium or further improvements to The Mem that will keep the momentum going. Despite a disappointing end to the season and a relatively lowly placed finish, we comfortably avoided a relegation scrap and the squad have another year's experience at a higher level and with the right signings during the summer perhaps a top 10 finish for 23/24 leading to an all out assault on promotion for 24/25. Is it too much to ask? My local Cardiff supporting fans are not in favour of this.

The Tonyrefail Taliban in their day were mad, but would only fight in prearranged dust ups with other idiots which seemed like polite hooliganism to me.

I doubt JB's done a lot this season to catch the bigger clubs eye, if he does ever leave we'll get decent compensation and can then get somebody else who causes Wael/TG less hassle. I doubt Blackpool would ever appoint an ex Fleetwood manager that would be like City appointing DC if Pearson quit. John Ward..... very much a forgotten man for his bit at the club 1st time round. Good 2 reasons why he’s the forgotten man, but still done a great job 1st time round. Leave it at that.

I don't think Blackpool and Fleetwood have quite the same rivalry or history as Bristol City and Rovers. Granted they're close, but it's more comparable to a small club like Cheltenham or Forest Green rising up to our level. John Ward's second spell at Rovers actually began really well. He had a 50% win ratio in 2013-13 after taking over from Mark McGhee. It just all went so horribly wrong the following season and the gamble of swapping Eliot Richards for Alan Gow, who immediately got injured was disastrous. So his reputation is rightly tainted by relegation to non league, but I still have a higher opinion of him than the likes of Buckle, McGhee and Garner

But he knows Wael stuck by him and I think that means there’s a good relationship there. But as to whether Wael would have the gall to do it, he wouldn’t do it would he? Wael would make the decision and Tom G would just act upon it. That’s why chairmen have CEOs, to do the things they don’t want to do. 😉 UTG!

The rest, as they say, is history. Even if his own second spell wasn’t great he sowed the seeds for a hell of a few years…
