Don’t think Sarpong Wiredo is a centre back
He's played there the two times I've seen him, against us and Sheff Weds
And looked very assured.

Is this even legal?! Like, that's essentially playing a rigged system cos you know what the likely outcome is gonna be. It can't - or at least it shouldn't - be that easy to just divert the assets last minute?!

Nothing there indicates transferring assets just appointing new directors who might not even be shareholders. They are certainly going to need somebody to lead them whilst Mr Pilley is in prison.

I remember seeing Bolton score a late goal against them and one of their players right in his face celebrating. Good player though!

Didn't the hated Blackpool owner transfer the club to his son when he was jailed! And that ended well with 3 relegations and fan boycotts
Unless sold I cannot see the EFL being happy as any director will be family or friend and nothing will change.

Owen Oysten was sent to prison in 1996. Blackpool were promoted to the Premier League in 2010 after he had been released form prison. Following their promotion the Oysters withdrew all the income (asset stripped) from the club including the parachute payments which amounted to 10's of Millions. The father and son duo no longer speak to each other and lost virtually everything they owned. Oyster Junior though is married to a multi millionairess (the widow of the former owner TVR cars) and still lives in a life of luxury.

Sentenced to 13 years. Fleetwood to log change of ownership with EFL. Didn't his business pump money into the Club through shirt sponsorship and advertising etc ? Wonder if there will be any implications for Fleetwood ? -

The proceeds of crime will be working overtime to seize anything of value associated with this fraud.

I wonder how much money he robbed off his customers was spent on bankrolling Fleetwood, given that they always seemed to be spending well beyond their means.

If they took over the ownership of Fleetwood Town there's not a lot they could do with it apart from selling it on as a going concern to the highest bidder? You do have to wonder if they are a viable concern without Pilley's, illicit, funding.

I remember many posters on here questioning how little old Fleetwood could compete at this level with small crowds . We were told by some it was something to do with their excellent training facilities and the money it generated and some canny sponsorship deals etc 😂
