In other news,think I saw GGMI at a five a side match in Bulawayo. Perhaps but the impact of this on League 1 and Fleetwood as they were splashing the cash last season is greater than whatever GGMI does! 😉 UTG! |

They've clearly lived beyond their means for years, they could well be another Darlington unless they find another owner prepared to fund their annual losses, which does seem unlikely. Probably the next we'll here is Fleetwood players announcing they've not been paid. You have to love the statement Piliey issued: "A club statement reads: "The chairman would like to reassure supporters the club will continue to operate as normal. Today’s verdicts will not affect the running or future of Fleetwood Town Football club." |

I recall a Wigan fan confronting a FA top brass person that he recorded on his phone, can't recall the name of FA person. The fan asked how did their owner pass the fit and proper person test, the FA bloke said, we do not decide that, the owners of the other teams decide it. Never heard it mentioned again since though. |

After being found guilty of multiple fraud charges and told to expect a custodial sentence then I wouldn’t even think there was any doubt! 🤔 Still this is the EFL we are talking about. UTG! |

i see that the message is business as usual but what else can they say? The club is actually owned by a Ltd Company- albeit owned by Piley - but it does not look good. If the regulator seeks compensation or any creditors come calling for money then his assets will be sold off. Would you pay out money for a season ticket if you were part of the cod army?

Did'nt realise the population of Fleetwood is between 25 & 26 thousand. Either they have been brilliant at how they run their club or Mr.Piley has been putting an incredible amount of money to compete in the Third Division. Hm.

Having seen him twice at Fleetwood (parents have moved up there and my dad's a season ticket holder) the guy's undoubtedly talented but he's also a headcase with a huge ego who spends most of his time in the ref's ear and thus in his book. He also is not a team player; constantly moaning at those around him and not laying the ball off to those in better positions at crucial times.
He and Barton would be pretty combustible.
If there was a Fleetwood fire sale then Brendan Sarpong-Wiredu would be a much better bet. A strong, solid centre back who can lead the line. Only 23 and has stepped-up a level pretty comfortably this season.
