Personally don’t see him going to a championship side , he’s a bit of a flat track bully in our division but don’t think he’s got the pace or nouse to play up a division now at his age . Can see him going to a team like Derby , he’ll guarantee 20 odd goals and give you a great chance of promotion. I’d value him at 1 million now. He is only 28 (29 when season starts) and scored 12 goals last time he was in the Champ for a relegated team That’s as maybe , still don’t think he’ll go to the championship.

What's the incentive for JCH to move this summer rather than wait a year and run down his contract, then leave on a free next summer and so pocket a decent signing in fee as Sammie Szmodics did last summer and Lockyer did when he left Rovers.

Signing JCH would be a statement of intent from both parties.
I feel like there has been a lot of chat when we play Peterborough about how much JCH and Barton have been talking and the kind of player he’d be in a Barton squad.
JCH will want to play in the Championship but if he was to come back to us he’d cost a lot and to me it would indicate we want to go somewhere. Can’t see he’d be replacement for Collins either but a compliment to him.

Has everyone been sat is the sun too long or been on the cider all day? Thinking there is even the slightest possibility of signing JCH is laughable - what would we have to do spend about 10 times our previous transfer record and completely blow our wage structure?

I can't see JCH being valued at £3.7m if no Championship club is interested in signing him, if they aren't then Posh may sooner take £1m or even less now than zero next summer. No idea where the £1m would come from though when we're even borrowing money to build the new stand.

No chance we’ll resign him but also claiming his value is over £3m is also for the birds.

I’m not so sure that championship clubs won’t be looking
The guy has a very good recent scoring record, and someone like Southampton or Leeds (think they will go) might well think he’s a steal at around £3m
He’s a very long way ahead of Coburn, Marquis and Loft

JCH and Collins playing together would be class. Could we make it happen?

JCH and Collins playing together would be class. Could we make it happen? Definitely. Then all we need to do is get Barry Bannan in to pull the strings behind them and HMS P*ss The League will be good to go.

Won't be able to afford him even if he does want to come here. Maybe if we sell Collins but definitely not together

At least a discount right? Truthfully, i have no idea but i can only surmise that the clubs would come to an agreement. Then again, there contracts are really worked on. As much as i would love him back, i just don’t see him being a Barton type of player, he likes them younger.

Clubs will still give a signing on fee whether there’s a transfer fee or not. I’d argue that the potential to play in a higher division at his age on probably at least double the salary, is a fairly decent pull for a footballer. Especially when compared to potentially moving next year after another year in L1 at a club he’s not loved, where he’d only get the same wage, but a year later.

I dont think JCH would get the same level of service here as he does for Posh. It will just be 30 passes around the back and then a big boot up to him

There is no evidence to suggest a championship club wouldn’t pay millions for the top scorer of L1 for a few years.
