www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65822231Has had a procedure on his heart to remedy what happened. I’m sure he will be one of the most monitored players in the PL next season. Good luck to him. UTG!

Thing is yes, they may be 1 good season from the promised land , BUT they are also 1 bad season from relegation, Lansdowne is not going to throw money around in the hope of getting to the Prem, City are a selling club and each close season they tend to lose their star player(s) also lets not forget that for all the differences in our wealth and facilities Rovers are one good season away from being in the same league as them, Luton and others have proved that 'basic' facilities are not a barrier to being successful, many Golfers spend thousands on golf club's only to find they still can't play the game! Isn’t that their stated business model ? To develop players from their academy and sell them on for millions to balance the books . They might even break even this yr if they sell a couple of their star players.

Assuming it wasn't then it's odd that it was never been picked up before he collapsed at Wembley, given all the fitness tests pro footballers now seem to regularly undergo. Did Connor Taylor have the same heart condition or was that something totally different, as I recall it was suggested he also needed a minor heart procedure?

Think it's just one of those things that can just happen. I had a heart attack half way round my 36th marathon. Anything on that day could have set it off, fitness background saved me. Nothing underlying. Just like things mechanical, sometimes they just break or flag up a fault. If you look after it the percentages are in your favour, never 100% though

Atrial flutter. A lot less serious than I’m sure everybody feared as it unfolded on tv. I’m looking forward to watching him play in the Prem - he fully deserves it.

AF has different forms, one of which is that it just comes and goes, and there are no symptoms, so, unless you happened to be tested on the day, it wouldn't be picked up.

Had a good natter with my consultant about genetics and undiagnosed issues. A lot of amateur runners who have issues generally find out the horrible way very early. He was convinced mine was just bad luck as if there was an undiagnosed issue I'd have been gone at an earlier event. He did say a lot of pros of many sports are checked and sometimes things just happen. Very rarely is something missed, undiagnosed is just that, at the time of the test there was nothing untoward. Even after a cardiac event the cause can still be undiagnosed. Not uncommon for people to have rhythm issues that are sorted with a small shock.

I had an appointment at Southmead Hospital two weeks ago for a routine ultrasound scan on my heart to check any effects from another condition and its medication. Ended up being kept in and a pacemaker fitted. I hadn't really noticed anything wrong. I was told the electrical impulse controlling my heartbeat had broken down. Now fine.

i have the same condition that poleaxed Tom and had a cardioversion which is where the heart is stopped and restarted with an electric shock to try and get it back into rhythm. I was warned that it is not a permanent fix and indeed mine lasted less than a month before it needed doing again. That lasted less than a day. In the end they decided that my body is used to this condition and it doesn't affect my lifestyle and so i take anti stroke medication and thats it . I have learned to recognise the symptoms when they occur and rest up for a tick. My pulse rate is up and down like a yo yo and i suddenly feel quite light headed.

I think I heard he had an ablation procedure (catheter into the heart) which will hopefully keep him in rhythm long term 🤞
