Has collapsed on the pitch at Bournemouth. Game stopped. Hope and pray it’s nothing serious! Same as happened at the play off final maybe?

Glad Tom seems ok. This might spell the end of his career though. Could you risk it happening a third time and him being ok ?

Get well soon Tom. Cardiac arrest should mean he will have a ICD / pacemaker fitted and like Christian Eriksen hopefully will be able to resume his career.

Just got back from the match. Good to read the latest statement about him being awake and alert. It’s been confirmed as a heart attack which is awful for him and the second in 6 months. Good luck to a very good and whole hearted footballer and a fine young man.
FWIW, the response from all the crowd and the staffs of both teams and the emergency services was a credit to them all. First match I’ve ever been to when it’s been abandoned because of a medical emergency on the pitch and perhaps esp to Philip Billing who alerted the referee and the benches immediately Tom fell down. He quickly realised the seriousness of the situation. The crowd realised the seriousness very quickly and I’ve never been in a crowd where there was absolute hush, you could have heard a pin drop. When the match was abandoned both teams came onto the pitch and did a lap clapping the crowd. Rob Edwards also did a lap and was clearly very upset and he got a wonderful response.
Good luck Tom.
UTG!

UTG! I think it was a cardiac arrest rather than a heart attack. When he had his last procedure I don’t know whether an implantable device was fitted, if it was it could have been that that got his heart beating again? Thankfully he’s conscious and responsive but whatever happens now it’s about his health and longevity. He might not be allowed to resume pro football in England but any thoughts about playing should be shelved for him and his family’s sake. After early rejection he’s squeezed every last drop out of his career and can retire proud of his achievements. Get well soon Tom and well done to the staff and medics at both clubs 👏

Play off was atrial fibrillation, this was a cardiac arrest. Will be plenty of tests to see if there is any connection. Hopefully no permanent damage. Heart attack causes muscle damage, cardiac arrest is the heart just stops, thank **** for defibs. Would assume he'll have an ICD fitted. Not a pacemaker but a - in basic terms - mini defib, as Erikson has

Here's hoping for a speedy full recovery, Tom's been living the dream these past few years and has proved he made the right decision to leave, rejected by Cardiff as a youngster, worked so hard ( for our benefit) to rebuild his career with us before taking the plunge, thoroughly deserving of the success which has come his way, a lesson to all youngsters who get 'rejected', has never forgotten the part Rovers played in his rise up the pyramid, now time to put health first, football second, best of luck Tom for speedy and full recovery.

I dinnae mind saying I was greetin las night watchin some of the clips from yesterday’s match at Bournemouth , I had tears running down ma face.
That lad is everything good aboot th game, fiercely competitive, determined an a managers dream coz he will literally do whatever he’s asked to do, an do it well. He shows how hard work a dedication can pay off an, jes like many of us he’s a dreamer, an this kid dreamt big an his dreams come true.
Tommy Locks goes down as one of my favourite Rovers players of all time, we were lucky to have him, to see him grow from youth team ta first team, from player to leader. Every Gashead should be proud to have been a tiny part of him living his dream.
Good luck Tom, a full recovery an I can see you back out there proving folk wrong all over again. Best wishes ta yous an all your family a friends.

That will be the tough decision Tom will have to make.
