Yeah sure they’ll trigger the contract extension to get the best deal Or maybe as It’s Joey, just let us have him.

Yeah sure they’ll trigger the contract extension to get the best deal Or maybe as It’s Joey, just let us have him. Has to be an improved contract before they can demand a fee doesn’t it? That risks them being stuck with a player and paying increased wages when they might not really want him? He doesn’t strike me as a Dyche style defender so I reckon he’ll be released - hopefully then signing for us 🙏 A double announcement of him and Connor Taylor would make a nice start to the transfer window!!!!

Lewis Gibson offered a new deal Is that to ensure they get paid or the really want him? Not sure if it applies to him or what age it goes up to. But it could be to ensure they at least get some form of compensation if he leaves on a free?

He isn't going to take £2.5k a week from us, Everton will offer him 10k a week, minimum.
Oh well, there goes that. In all honesty, he was part of a defence that leaked goals all season, so might not be a bad thing.

That depends on whether Everton have offered him a genuine contract for next season or just one so a club has to pay a fee if he's transferred this summer, given that he's still under 24?

He was on 7.5K a week last year when he was with us, I doubt we would have paid 100 % of his wages whilst on loan but we would have contributed so i am sure he would be happy to sign a new deal at Everton although i think a Championship Club will come in and Everton will want to see if copes with the step up.

Gibson will have plenty of interest and offers from clubs this summer because individually he was good for us and his data (see below) was eye catching. Ball playing left footed CB's are not easy to find, especially ones with his quality and potential. He would be a good signing for us, but very unlikely. Attachment Deleted

Unfortunately, the defence was not great last season, would imagine Joey will be unable to pay Gibson £10k per/week, so we keep Connolly, and bring in 2/3 new faces, which hopefully includes Connor Taylor's return, maybe wishful thinking.

Where have these £7.5k & £10k per week figures come from? Are they true or just guesses?

I personally know someone who is a coach at a Championship club. A couple of years ago I was staggered when he told me that when a young Academy player joins the first tam squad.his weekly wage went up to £7,500 per week.

I can quite believe it, there is a huge gap between League One and Championship wages, and same again between Champ and Prem. Mad, mad world.

That is just pure madness and , although I have heard of worse, it’s hard to take in. One day, in the not too distant future, the experts will be be be talking of the demise of our national game

I, vividly, remember the snakes first wage, at the 82. Could hardly believe it but could actually understand why, his age and family etc plus no real affiliation to Bristol. I had hoped hos relationship with DC was very important but not so . What , even now, upsets me is the welcome to Bristol crap, which was signed off on by Lansdown. It was all totally unnecessary and cause him many many personal problems in his private life, silly boy

Fair point, i was very upset at losing him, even though he had made all the noises about moving on. Quite simple my friend, it appeared in the papers as at least 4 times his wage , with us and then on various other platforms. Of course it could have been fake information but he seemed very happy with the change. I am not trying to be clever btw
