Born in Newport and played for City when he was younger .Not unreasonable to think that he may want to return closer to his homebase Just seen that Plymouth have announced he's leaving this morning. They offered him a new deal, but the deadline has passed and he didn't take it up. So they thought he was good enough for Championship. |

Just seen that Plymouth have announced he's leaving this morning. They offered him a new deal, but the deadline has passed and he didn't take it up. So they thought he was good enough for Championship. Not necessarily, they may have just offered him a reduced contract but thought he’d be good for a bit of injury cover . We’ve done similar in the past . |

Ticks a lot of boxes. Let’s hope it doesn’t turn out like the last two experienced centre backs. Hopefully brings out the best in Connolly too.

He’s won loads of promotions over the years , experienced centre back just what we need.
Now for a defensive midfielder to replace coutts / Whelan and at least two wide man with some pace please .

Not convinced, ageing and is ex City, one last pay cheque and close to home? Not my favourite subjects but I’ll keep an open mind for now until viewed playing.

Signing a guy who was almost ever-present in the title winning team in our division last season will do for me, especially given how suspect we looked at the back last season.

Not my favourite subjects but I’ll keep an open mind for now until viewed playing. 38 apps for the L1 champions last season, seems a no-brainer pickup on a free transfer to me. Always risk with older players that their levels could drop off suddenly but Plymouth offered him a contract to play in the Championship, which says a lot. |
