www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/bristol-rovers-jevani-brown-spat-8582884There's no suggestions of any racial abuse in the court report so I suggest it's now accepted there was none, drink seems to have played a big part in the incident so let's just hope JB's now overcome that problem. As PP suggests it's surprising the club haven't already released something, as you have to assume they must have been aware JB intended pleading guilty to the second charge.

I said wait until the court evidence, damning CCTV evidence. I’ve done jury service, many others will have done on this forum, this isn’t a random opinion on it all, a jury of 12 have found him guilty, we are told you can’t be 99% sure, you have to be 100% sure and he even admitted it! What jury? This was a magistrates court.. the district judge would have found him guilty. Has it even been confirmed if that was the case? Some people are saying he changed his plea to guilty anyway..

I just want to throw a different spin on this for a moment. Regardless of the rights and wrongs in signing Brown, I find it astonishing (so far) that the club have yet to say anything. Surely they would have been prepared for what was likely going to happen today and what would be said. The club will get a lot of stick and no doubt Brown will next season, but given the outcome, the mention of alcohol and sporting chance, I would be expecting the club to come out and publicly support their player with those issues (Again regardless of what anyone of us things about him being her/the club signing him) as I presume they are doing privately Not just the club, Adam Tutton resigned from the carnival not even over a criminal offence, just a t shirt being sold?! How does he and his team go into the community on this? I said wait until the court evidence, damning CCTV evidence. I’ve done jury service, many others will have done on this forum, this isn’t a random opinion on it all, a jury of 12 have found him guilty, we are told you can’t be 99% sure, you have to be 100% sure and he even admitted it! Having your hair pulled doesn’t give you the right to hit women and spit in their face. The owner publicly said when Barton was arrested that anyone found guilty of assault will be sacked. The manager’s wife was that desperate she dialled 999, video evidence was used in his case but he got it thrown out as the trial would unfair, his wife got her story wrong. We are now signing players who hit women all this for the sake of success, what have we become? Why would the jury need to do anything, he pleaded guilty so they had nothing to decide.

Does this decision put Weal in a difficult position as he stated in July 2021 the following in regards to Joey` court case? But after widespread criticism of the club's statement, Wael Al Qadi said in an open letter today: “Firstly, I think it is really important to confirm that as a club we stand firmly against any form of violence. Any individual that is found guilty of any such offences will be dismissed immediately.27 Jul 2021 It's a bit awkward. Can hardly dismiss him for being found guilty when we signed him after he had already admitted guilt on one count with the other pending..

All very unsavory and it does seem strange that we have given ourselves this problem. Let's hope he has mended his ways.
I always find it funny when you hear mitigating circumstances of defense lawyers. Yes he is a professional footballer but he will only have 4 or 5 mid week away games over the course of the season that would prevent him doing community service. I am sure pretty much everyone doing community service have commitments they have to re arrange.

Brown had already admitted guilt before the case and sentencing today, so the club new he was guilty when they signed him, so they are hardly going to turn round and punish him after they new he was guilty. Hopefully he can can now carry on where he left off at Exeter and get the goals that will help us challenge for promotion. He committed a crime and has been punished, if a bit lenient maybe, but hopefully he will have learnt from this, control his drinking and perhaps keep away from night club while he is with us.

They're nowhere to be seen otherwise. Maybe they are disillusioned with the club over the last couple of years and see negative threads as confirmation bias that they are right for feeling disconnected from something they once loved.

Will hergametoo now disassociate themselves from BRFC? Why do people want to drag them into things like this? They want to encourage females to play football and attend football matches - they have a welcoming space for females who attend on their own. What a player does off the field does not impinge on this. They were put in an akward position, virtually being forced to come out with a statement, then they get the "who do they think they are, telling us who we can sign?" comments. They do all the work in their spare time, give them a break.

HGT Stepping away from the club means not attending games on comps or free tickets? Interested to see how they react on twitter to the news. As far as I know they do not receive free tickets, and are season ticket holders.
