Lots of good youngsters coming through, I was impressed with Rico Lewis last season. He's still only 18 and already started a few games for Man City. He only lost his place, when Stones started pushing into midfield, from center back. Before that, he was pushing into that space from right back. Samuel Iling-Junior was making appearances as a 19-year-old for Juventus last season and scored his first senior goal on his first start for Juve to help his team beat Atalanta 2-0. Jamie Bynoe-Gittens was making regular appearances and got goals/assists as an 18-year-old for Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga. The future is bright. There's 2 brothers Tommy and Charlie Setford at Ajax Funnily enough both goalkeepers who I've heard are very good prospects, both being in the same position though is going to be a problem for 1 of them I imagine. They've both played for England in various age groups already.

Some very promising talent coming through at various age groups. Watched the FA Youth Cup Final and was impressed with a lad called George Earthy for West Ham. Ethan Nwaneri is the youngest ever player to play for Arsenal and every top club wants him. Jimmy-Jay Morgan impressed for Southampton and England at youth level with goals and assists and Chelsea recently spent millions to take him to the club. There are many more and too many to mention!

He can play in about 3 or 4 different positions as well. RB, LB, Centre Back and Central Midfield. He's literally a clone of Reece James imo, very identical attributes. Lewis Hall at Chelsea is another promising Full Back, who can also play in Midfield as well. England are producing players now who are adaptable and comfortable playing in different positions which wasn't the case before. It can only stand us in good stead. Did Hall play at the Mem in the EFL Trophy? Pretty sure Rice did and maybe Broja, plus Gilmour so thats quite a few full internationals and up and coming players (and down and going internationals - Drinkwater) who have played at the Mem in that comp. Not forgetting Rickie obviously and many internationals from smaller countries. Did Elliott A get a run out for Newcastle u21s in the competition last season and has he decided to represent England or Scotland?

Didn't we play Saints in a FA youth cup a few seasons ago and they had a superstar in the making. I might have got my wires crossed but we lost something like 4-1 maybe in the Walker/Phillips/Hoole u18 period and they had one player who we just couldn't get near to. You could tell he never got out of first gear while we worked out socks off. Maybe just my memory and old age but I thought he was Dutch or similar and cost them a few million. Morgan must have been too young to have played?

Sure I've mentioned him before, but what's the official Pirate opinion in Bristol lad Max Alleyne at Man City?

Morgan too young. www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alexandre-jankewitz/profil/spieler/507472

Not seen a lot of him but I did see him for them in the u18 Manchester derby a couple of months back and looked assured in possession and comfortable playing with both feet. Had a good game.

I bow down to pirates knowledge.
However, it should be said there is a world of difference between looking the business in youth team and first team men's football (Shaquille Hunter for example).
Looking at Liverpool's EFL Trophy results from a few years ago Quansah played every minute, sometimes alongside Phillips, so both highly rated, but they conceded 5 v Port Vale, and 4 v Bolton and Rochdale.
From the 84 squad, not many of those players were anything more than international squad players, Hateley aside.
It will be interesting to see in ten years time, how many of the side that played yesterday are leading internationals. Especially considering those already ahead of them, Foden, Saka etc

On the flip side, something like 6 of Germany’s Under 21 Euro winning side in 2009 went on to win the World Cup Five years later. After they slapped us 4-0 in that final😂
