Appreciate its not Rovers linked but if you get chance - check out the interview.
Incredible what he has been through in his relatively short life time - from family abuse to selling drugs and then his mental health which no one picked up on.
Really good watch.

Agreed, very moving. I hope that he can harness his football mojo, and work through his demons.

Great interview. Watched it on my lunch today. Very emotional. Would love to see him back in an England shirt and buzzing around the middle like in 2018 again.

Incredibly brave young man to disclose all this horrendous stuff he had going on, especially considering how vile sick folk can be on social media when they want to troll someone.
Let's hope he gets the full support of all that should support him and the internal peace that he deserves.
Poor soul.

Shocking even worse than Edwards in my view. Drug dealing at 8 awful upbringing such a fabulous talent from age 16 tohis early 20s His decline at Everton was queried by many how he went down hill. Now we know the reasons

Great interview, we as fans at Rovers have judged players in the past with so called bad attitudes, living up here in Oxfordshire for example, Josh Barrett had a challenging life in Blackbird Leys, he’s a good lad as well like Ali.
Brilliant show this one, so pleased Dele Ali has done this and is feeling better and on the way back.

Cant help feeling that it was a bit early to do a show like this - almost as if he is trying to convince himself that he is better.

I thought this as well Phil, but he did say he was kind of rushed because the tabloids were going to expose he’d in the US for ) weeks having therapy.

He’s trying to control the narrative because the scummy red tops have been hounding his people for weeks whilst he was in rehab.

Some fans judge player and managers purely based on the 90 minutes.
It's been said before but it is easy to slag of say the Garner relegation squad, but what do we know about what it was like.
To be a promising young player leaving home for the first time and then with COVID having to spend the majority of their time stuck in a flat or digs, while a family member could be seriously ill, must have affected performance.
No socialising with team mates, no overseas bonding trips, no fans, no family, living in an effective cell.
I would imagine that several of those players would be at a higher level than they are now if they did not have their own mental health struggles.
Maybe an arm around the shoulder of a snus addict and trying to work out why they feel they have to take it and working to improve the player and the person may have been a more thoughtful approach?
Sometimes we forget that the players are people. I never understood the need to shout abuse (or write bad things on social media) about our own players. How is ever going to help?
Well done Dele for raising an important issue.

Agreed, very moving. I hope that he can harness his football mojo, and work through his demons. You know, I know a lot of younger guys, where i live, who have many psychiatric issues and obvious MH problems but they do not have the money to get therapy. This is an epidemic, whether some wish to believe that is another thing. It is a killer and especially if alone and allowed to dwell. Good luck to him and all who suffer.
