Working hard in the Summer.....
Tyler No. 2
Having climbed the football ladder all the way to the top rung himself, ex- Albion star Des Lyttle is loving helping others fulfil their professional dreams.
Wolverhampton-born Lyttle spent three years at The Hawthorns and in 2002 was part of the first Baggies team to reach the top flight in two decades.
He did so by working his way through the ranks, from Worcester City to Swansea and on to Nottingham Forest, in what was a hugely creditable professional career.
But having made the step into management in 2010 with Tamworth, he has now enjoyed a successful first season as the head football coach at Thomas Telford School academy in Shropshire.
Lyttle, who started training for his UEFA A Licence last summer, joined the academy last September and has already helped their Under 18s win the ESFA National Cup at the Ricoh Arena. That side included his son Tyler who, having been released by Wolves when he was younger, has earned another chance, with Bristol Rovers.
Indeed the 17-year-old is just the latest youngster to have passed through the academy and into the professional and non-League ranks.
.......Lyttle will hope his son, who plays right back, goes on to experience as much as he did during his time as a pro. He played more than 200 games at Forest and 89 times for West Brom, joining just before the transfer deadline in 2000 to aid the club’s fight against relegation to the third tier.
