I see they’ve made another managerial appointment as well.
Sounds like the next Ben Garner.

Dale got on the TV so assume he considered the appointment a success. Onto the next bit of self-publicity.
Had to laugh the last time I went to Forest Green and he had advertising for eco-friendly mobile phone contracts everywhere - yea ok, because he really has a green mobile phone network not just making a few quid re-branding one of the big providers ......

FGR director of football Allan Steele added: “Matty is somebody who I’ve admired for a while. I know he has really strong feelings for the club and he’s an incredible person to be around. 🤣🤣🤣 strong feelings my arse, no one else will want him but if his head was turned he'd drop FGR straight away

I think he even did 'the worm' at their place. Saying that looked how he mugged off his supported team when Appleton was there so just shows the type of person he is.

One of my favourite what if scenarios at rovers. What if Taylor had stayed that season. We were on absolute fire and pushing towards the playoffs whilst city were struggling in the championship. There was a real feeling that we might finally overtake them! He was actually a great signing for City. Not because of his on-field performances necessarily (although he was involved in a move which led to them scoring against Man Utd or Man City or whoever it was that they beat in a cup).. but signing our top goalscorer at a time when we had some real momentum going up through the leagues - and City in decline at the time (20th in the Champ?) - was a genius move. All the "Welcome to Bristol" stuff and the snake gif and the "Champagne Moment" was a real lift for their fan base and took some of the pressure off of Lee Johnson. Definitely a "what if" moment.. if he had stayed we could have snuck play-offs.. and City might well have gone down. Imagine! Yes, I think that’s about right. Not the sharpest knife in the kitchen and he and his agent wangled the best financial deal he could. And of course he will always pay the consequences. I’d say MT was manipulated but I’m sure he was happy to sign and as he has admitted, he was surprised by our reaction. (As has been said, not the most intelligent of players!) It was always more about the **** spoiling our push for the play-offs and breaking our momentum than about helping them. As you say LJ was under pressure and that move gave a laugh to the other lot. Yes, an “if” moment. UTG!

Lad told two of us in a Bristol bar “I’ll be more popular than Rickie Lambert at this football club one day” he didn’t like it that I laughed out loud. Irony being he was battered at the time and treating his body like a theme park.

So the former proud Rovers player is now with FGR. Probably do well in League 2.

Even Scott Murray calls him 'snake' when replying to his IG posts. I think Taylor gets off on the attention tbh so I dont think he will lose any sleep over it. He got what he wanted which was more money. The fact the teds still hold him in high esteem without having done anything of note for them, kinda sums them up.
