Im in two minds as he seemed to go right off the boil towards the end of the season along with Collins, but will only improve

Once L1 defenders learnt how to stop him he was pretty average, the same defenders aren't going to forget how to stop over the summer?

I’m not bothered Would prefer JM given a chance with the new attacking line up. Or better loan options out there.
Wouldn’t mind him being on the bench in place of loft if nothing better comes up and we keep AC

I think Coburn was the best striker we had last season, but we seemed to struggle to work out how to best utilise him (and Collins) once our tactics changed in January following Rossiter's injury.

I’d love to have him back, linked up with Collins well and is only going to improve.

Wouldn’t mind him being on the bench in place of loft if nothing better comes up and we keep AC Middlesbrough won’t be looking for a team where he sits on the bench, he needs to be playing. Given that he’s young and will improve I’d have him back but can see the attraction of a proven scorer, JM, being first choice. A bit of a dilemma for JB but given JB always spoke well of Coburn and we’ve had no loans so far it may happen. Sure JB is waiting later in the window to get his full quota of loans in. Bogarde as well perhaps. UTG!

I heard Carlisle were looking at getting Coburn a few weeks back but nothing came of it

It seems pretty clear already from the friendly line ups JM is going to be used as a sub again this season, I'm not really sure how JB's going to fit Brown, Collins, Sinclair, Thomas and a new striker into the team, either JB's assuming Collins will be sold or it looks like he might revert to being the main striker again this season.

Only if he has learnt not to be bullied off the ball.for his size upper strength seemed to disappear after January.

I think we need another striker if we want to seriously challenge for the top half this season. If Collins is off then that's both of our top 2 goalscorers gone from last season and we're probably in need of 2 forwards. For all the talk of Marquis being the answer, I think it's obvious at this point that Joey doesn't fancy him in certain fixtures, so we'd need a different type of forward.

He’s quality. Just fell foul of a bit of a tactical switch up from us. Was used in a way far from what he’s best suited to. If he’s in L1 next season he will score 15+

I'd take him on loan if we shipped loft out as Josh has cracking potential.

Think Collins and Coburn both lost out on tactical changes. Coburns running down the channels was ditched for being more of a target man.
