Not for me,
I think with a three behind of mixed of AC, LT, JB, SS, we need a poacher type and think JM could be that person

I'd take him on loan if we shipped loft out as Josh has cracking potential. I can't see the relevance of shipping Loft out given that we had both of them last season, if we did ship out Loft we need a replacement not just make do without a big CF.

Because our first 11 with AC SS JB LT means Marquis and loft already on the bench. No way we can have 3 substrikers fighting it out. Loft better off out on loan.

What we lack up top is pace IMO, and don’t think Coburn is the man to add that.
All our strikers largely want to come to the ball. Either to hold it up and lay it off like Marquis, or to pick it up deep and drive with it like Collins.
I’d like a striker with raw pace in the squad who wants to run in behind and stretch the opposition more.

Loft clocked in as our quickest straight line player at the start of pre-season and yet 95% of the fanbase would probably pick Loft as the first player to get rid of.

Not sure I'd personally start with those 4 as AC's not a centre forward but if we did I can't see Coburn being content to rejoin us just to sit on the bench, when he could go to another L1 side who'll guarantee him starts. Another issue with playing with AC as CF is that we have no height at corners in either box.

Port Vale (A) Absolute pace on the big man! Possibly L2 is his natural level? He looked like he may have been able to make the step up but after he was injured in the televised Sheff Weds game he never really looked the part.

I’d definitely have him back. He was superb in the first half of last season before tailing off. He’s what 20 years old? He’s going to get better and will already be a better player after his first full season as a first team regular.

Well yeah, I’m not saying stick an Olympic sprinter up top. Some technical ability to go with it, too! (I love Lofty btw. What a bloke. But we can do better)

How many goals did he score in his last dozen or so games, just the one? Can any of us really face watching him for another season having his shirt constantly pulled but the refs taking no action.

Ok. He’s peaked at 20 and isn’t going to learn and improve.

I’ll pass on this way also. Marquis our best striker imo.

I can't see Coburn fitting in to our side now with the additions of Brown and Thomas along with Scotty sinclair and AC and JM. We are shaping up to look like a team who plays it quick and short on the deck and personally I think Loft has the ability to improve as the target man if and when we need one providing he stays fit 😉

I really liked coburn, always thought he trying really hard and for me we switched things around to protect the new goalkeeper in January (?) and never got a coherent attacking system going after that but josh kept running, wish he’d been stronger in all the argy Bargy stuff but does that come with age/experience? I’d pick him and I’d love to have him back plus one my kids won a signed mug from him in a kit design competition so that settles it!

A fantastic option if we are looking to score no goals and watch a big lad get bullied by smaller defenders.
I didn’t see anything to suggest he’s league 1 Stabdard in current context.

Which, I guess, is why Middlesbrough offered him an extended contract...wonder what they know, or see, that doubters here do not. At Championship level.
