The only thing that makes sense to me in this Belly and Cox fight for no1 Ward out on loan for year with promise he wont be recalled/we dont want him recalled Hall brought in as extra cover and will be sent out on short term loans we can recall him from Maybe Bellycox Hall, sure i stayed there once. We're hardly a Premiership side, what other L1 side is signing players and then sending immediately sending them out on loan? Belshaw probably ended any hopes of remaining at the club messing up v Braga. If belly is going then surely we’d be looking for a keeper with some experience. May as well play ward than this guy. Don’t get it if you are right.

Looks like he's here as a development player on a pittance.
No sure why it's attracting much attention here. Prob won't play a first team game all season.

I initially thought this meant end of Belly, but having looked this guy up I suspect he’s here as an extremely budget third choice option to bench warm in the event Cox is away with England. Yeah thinking about it, or if either Belly or Cox got injured then we would have to call Jed back which would stall his game time (like last season with Ansii getting injured). So might make more sense as just a back up at the moment. Think this is part of it, but also with the goalkeeping situation at Brentford in a state of flux and they’ve already been comfortable with Cox on the bench for some premier league games, I suspect there are a couple of details in his loan deal around such things as they don’t want him cup tied so we can’t use him in the League or FA cups and so we need another back up keeper for those games as well as any where Cox is away on England duty. In addition whilst they’ll try to avoid it at all costs (because they want him to play games) there is probably a recall clause included in the loan if their goalkeeping arrangements go south at any point in the campaign. If we already have a deputy on site we’re not scrabbling about for an emergency loan or recalling Ward from Wealdstone. They might also not want Cox risked in the Papa Johns Trophy or whatever it is called…Hall will probably start all of those games with Belly sitting it out on the bench. As to why Hall…well David Coles knows the South Coast goalkeeping scene well and also knows the junior and youth prospects from his time in the England development teams set up, so he will have been alerted to Hall’s availability and suitability as a recruit for our set up.

I didn't think it was possible to recall players under the present loan deals, apart from during the January transfer window? I can't see Belshaw staying at the club and just playing the odd cup game.

The sentence “A loan deal can be cancelled at any time in the season if both clubs concerned agree.” Not difficult to imagine the parent club stipulating that if circumstances arise where they have to propose that the loan be cancelled then Rovers are obliged to agree to the cancellation. www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/2759309/what-is-the-loan-system-when-can-players-be-loaned-does-the-premier-league-have-different-loan-rules-to-the-football-league/

I was told by someone who would know that Belly would not be our first choice keeper come the start of next season.. I still suspect that will prove to be correct.
Certain people within the club were not a fan of the reaction from the vans when JB was dropped last season...
