Another goalkeeper signed, does this mean the end for Belly?

I initially thought this meant end of Belly, but having looked this guy up I suspect he’s here as an extremely budget third choice option to bench warm in the event Cox is away with England.

The writing has been on the wall for a long time, that pass to the Braga player was probably the last straw.

Youth keeper without any senior pro appearances, can’t see him replacing Belly.

Yeah thinking about it, or if either Belly or Cox got injured then we would have to call Jed back which would stall his game time (like last season with Ansii getting injured). So might make more sense as just a back up at the moment.

6th July 2017.
Now.
That was proper excitement.
Adam Smith and Sam Slocombe signed.
Who would end up being first choice?
Who would be the better keeper?
Buses, buses, buses.

Budget option to fight for the no 2 spot and if Ward doesn't step up this season on loan then there's the new long term no 1 replacement.

If anything I think this is a signal that we want Jed out on loan for the foreseeable so he can develop into a future number one for us. If Cox or Belly got injured, having to pull Jed away from an important loan spell to bench warm would suck. Here we get a young lad who can give us that option, perhaps for a couple years, while Jed hopefully progresses up the pyramid and into our side

Maybe 3rd choice?
Maybe 2nd choice if Belly is off?
Who knows. Maybe Belly has said he'd like a move if he's not going to be playing regularly at Rovers.
I guess Hall was one of the other 2 players Barton was hoping to sign before the weekend. A bit underwhelming if that's the case.
We've had a good pre season but we have more pressing needs than another keeper.
To have a squad capable of maintaining a top 6 challenge, we still need a CB, DM, Winger & ST in my opinion.

With the trialist as the fourth? I agree that we could do with at least one or two more especially a defensive midfielder and central defender.

The only thing that makes sense to me in this Belly and Cox fight for no1 Ward out on loan for year with promise he wont be recalled/we dont want him recalled Hall brought in as extra cover and will be sent out on short term loans we can recall him from
Maybe
Bellycox Hall, sure i stayed there once.

Belly will still be here come the start of season, as Hall's under 21 he won't affect the squad, I wouldn't be surprised to see him go straight out on a short loan either

We're hardly a Premiership side, what other L1 side is signing players and then sending immediately sending them out on loan? Belshaw probably ended any hopes of remaining at the club messing up v Braga.
